Red White and Blue Cake Pops

These red white and blue cake pops are a fun way to enjoy July 4th or Memorial Day. Super simple to throw together and perfect to make with kids.

Cake pops are all the rage right now.  They even sell them at Starbucks. Which sorta made me not want to make them. But I got over that and decided to make them anyway.  They’re a breeze to make and totally delicious to eat I made mine pretty large so I only got 34 cakes pops from a 9×13 pan. However,  if you make them smaller you would probably get closer to 50. I did a vanilla cake with vanilla icing (I added some vanilla paste to the cake to jazz it up just a bit) but you could do any combination you wanted. I also made it easy on myself and used boxed cake and frosting.  If you’re feeling amazing and want to make the cake homemade…go for it

I hope everyone has a great holiday this weekend. Have fun and enjoy the four day weekend!!!

Red, White and Blue Cake Pops

These red white and blue cake pops are a fun way to enjoy July 4th or Memorial Day. Super simple to throw together and perfect to make with kids.

Yield: 30 cake pops

Prep Time: 50 minutes

Cook Time: 35 minutes

Total Time: 85 minutes

Ingredients:

1 box cake mix, any flavor
1 tub cake frosting, any flavor
Lollipop sticks
Red colored chocolate
White colored chocolate
Blue colored chocolate
Sprinkles or sanding sugar (for decoration)

Directions:

Bake cake in a 9x13 pan according to directions. Completely cool and crumble into large bowl.

Dump in frosting and stir to combine. You can use your hands but be warned it will get messy and sticky.

Once thoroughly mixed either roll balls by hand or use cookie scoop. Place balls on cookies sheet, stick lollipop stick in top and place in freezer for at least an hour.

Melt chocolate, take cake pops out of the freezer and dip.

Put on lined cookie sheet, decorate with sprinkles and let chocolate harden.

(If you are using multiple colors of chocolate I recommend melting and completely using one color at a time)
