HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

It’s time for a little cocktail to bring you a little (or a lot) of holiday spirit.

As you all know, I’m a HUGE fan of all things eggnog. Especially if that eggnog is aged eggnog. Or used in this eggnog martini.

Yeah, I’m a huge fan.

Plus I feel Christmas isn’t Christmas without eggnog.

I grew up looking forward to the “nog” each and every year because it’s a strict seasonal drink. You can’t very well be drinking eggnog in July.

In fact, I don’t think you could even find eggnog in July if you tried.

Well, you could make it but I just can’t imagine drinking a big glass of nog and then hopping in the pool.

Eggnog Martini Ingredients:

What is eggnog?

Eggnog is a traditional milk punch made out of eggs, milk, sugar, and typically spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon.

Traditionally it was made with raw eggs but it’s more common now to use pasteurized eggs in eggnog. You can also cook the eggnog so you do not have to worry about issues with consuming raw eggs.

Where can I find eggnog?

In the United States, around Christmastime, you can find eggnog very easily in almost any grocery store.

In fact, it’s so common that in my grocery store, there is at least 7 different option ranging from vanilla-flavored eggnog to rum-flavored eggnog to dairy-free eggnog.

How do I make an eggnog martini?

This eggnog cocktail is one of the easiest to make!

All you need is eggnog, vanilla-flavored vodka, and amaretto.

Add it all to a cocktail shaker with some ice, give it a shake, pour it into a glass, and enjoy!

Changing this recipe

There are a few changes you could easily make to this recipe and still keep it delicious!

Instead of vanilla vodka, you could use caramel vodka, cinnamon vodka, or even just plain vodka.

What is Amaretto?

Amaretto is a sweeter almond-flavored liqueur that can be commonly found at most liquor stores.

Some popular brands are Disaronno and Luxardo.

It’s great in this eggnog martini but also fantastic served on the rocks or in a warm after-dinner coffee cocktail.

Doubling this eggnog martini

While this recipe is written out to only make one cocktail it can easily be doubled to make 2 or more cocktails.

Can I premake this eggnog martini?

Yes, but there might be some settling so you’ll want to give it a good shake or stir before serving.

Can I make this a dairy-free eggnog martini?

Yes!

All you need to do is substitute traditional eggnog with dairy-free eggnog. Depending on the brand you use the dairy-free nog may not be as thick and creamy as “traditional” eggnog but it will still make a delicious cocktail.

Some common brands are Blue Diamond almond milk nog, So Delicious coconut milk nog, and Califa Farms almond milk nog.
