This bourbon and ginger ale cocktail is super simple and a fun twist to your usual straight-up bourbon. If you’re feeling spicy you can add in ginger beer instead of ginger ale. Don’t forget to add in the bourbon barrel-aged bitters for an extra dash of flavor!
It wasn’t until a while ago that I realized bourbon rocked my boozy world.
I have always been somewhat of a gin and often turned my nose at the thought of drinking anything brown.
I blame this on the fact that the only bourbon I ever had was the cheap stuff my dad would put in a hot toddy when I was sick.
A hot toddy is almost better than NyQuil.
It’s a natural way of getting your body back into shape.
So, fast forward to a couple of years ago and I went on a tour of Tuthilltown Spirits.
They were nice enough to give me a bottle of baby bourbon and I have been milking it ever since.
Once I realize how delicious something can be I do the exact opposite of most people.
Instead of having it whenever I want I hoard it.
I only use it for special occasions or for when I absolutely must have bourbon.
Although this drink is simple the flavors are elevated by the use of Fee Brothers whiskey barrel aged bitters.
These things are amazing. I know I said this yesterday, but seriously folks.
Bitters are amazing and need to become a part of your everyday bar setup.
Depending on your love of ginger flavor you can make this drink with ginger ale or ginger beer.
I especially love it when mixed with a nice spicy ginger beer.

Bourbon and ginger ale...I could imagine this is so good! I just cooked something with bourbon the other day and a couple weeks ago, I made my own ginger ale. Pinned!

You know, I never really got into bourbon probably because it's never something we had in the house but I've been using it way more in baked goods lately...now it's time to progress to actually DRINKING it!

Dude (because I'm from California), bourbon totally rocks my boozy world too! We drink it just like this too, all the time. But not with such a fancy fun bourbon. I gotta go find me some of that stuff!
