Toasted Marshmallow Milkshake

This toasted marshmallow milkshake combines freshly toasted marshmallows, vanilla ice cream and just a touch of whole milk.

We are onto our last day of Frozen Treat Week. I’m sad to see it end but the good news is that my thighs will thank me for not eating so many damn frozen treats. Monday I made mango margarita boozesicles, Wednesday I made lavender lemon curd frozen yogurt and today I brought us a totally over the top toasted marshmallow milkshake.

Don’t hate me that I made this recipe. It’s bound to be your new best friend.

This milkshake takes just a few simple ingredients and it’s a lot of fun to make. I roasted my marshmallows right in my kitchen using the lighter I usually reserve for my candles. Since I don’t have a gas stove this was my only option. It worked out well if you are wondering. Here is a fun Instagram picture of me setting these little fluffy devils on fire.

You may or may not agree with me but the key to a good milkshake is having a good blender. I have always lived by motto “you get what you pay for” and Blendtec blenders are worth every single cent.

Now, this is not your ordinary run of the mill blender. It can make hot soup (meaning you put in room temperature/cold ingredients and it becomes hot soup…awesome, I know), hot chocolate (again, cold ingredients to hot drink in 5 minutes), nut butters, hummus, baby food, smoothies and of course, milkshakes.

This baby is powerful.

The thing I love most is that it actually gets a smoothie smooth. I can throw in raspberries and there are no raspberry seeds. I can throw in chia seeds and you there are no traces. I cannot tell you how many times I have to choke down crappy homemade smoothies because the blender could not actually get the smoothie smooth. Not the case with this bad boy.

Toasted Marshmallow Milkshake

This toasted marshmallow milkshake combines freshly toasted marshmallows, vanilla ice cream and just a touch of whole milk.

Yield: 2 milkshakes

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 3 minutes

Total Time: 13 minutes

Ingredients:

5 scoops vanilla bean ice cream
12 large toasted marshmallows, divided
1/4 - 1/3 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

In a blender add ice cream, 10 of the toasted marshmallows, milk and vanilla extract.

Blend until creamy. Don't blend too much because you want there to still be little chunks of marshmallow-ey goodness throughout the shake.

Notes: When making a milkshake it's best start off with less milk and add in more if needed. The milk measure will depends on how thick/thin you prefer your milkshakes.

Options: Chocolate ice cream would be a delicious option as well as adding a few shots of marshmallow vodka.
