Irish Coffee Frappe

This sweet and simple Irish coffee frappe is perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or a simple Sunday brunch. Top with whipped cream and call it dessert!

My husband is such a trooper. Around 7:45pm on Saturday night I decided I wanted to go to Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods. Which is sadly 45 minutes away. To make me happy he went but I could tell his excitement level was low. He let me wander around both stores watching me as I got excited about every little thing I placed into my cart.

However, I think he lost in the ice cream aisle of Whole Foods. I stood there trying to justify why a $12.99 quart of ice cream wasn’t that bad of a deal. He started laughing hysterically so I instead settled for a $6.99 quart of ice cream.

Which I’m eating now.

{Shout out to Steve’s BKLYN Black Out ice cream. This stuff is legit. And I just might eat it all before I share with my husband.}

Wanna know what else I overpaid for? Beet and butternut squash yogurt {which my husband said sounded gross but he was totally wrong because it was amazing!} and a teeny tiny jar of yogurt that came in a glass bottle. I was totally suckered in by the packaging. You could take yoplait and put it in a glass jar and I guarantee I would buy it. Oh, and did you know you can fill up a growler of fresh coconut water at Whole Foods? Good lord, I’m so suckered in by everything people laugh at WF for.

So what does all this overpriced food have to do with this Irish coffee frappe? Well, after you spend your entire paycheck at Whole Foods you will need a drink a soften the blow. Trust me, I bought like 10 things and spend $80 dollars….ouch.

The drink is simple enough to throw together but does contain a little Irish whiskey so no drinking and then heading into work. Well, unless you work from home. Then you can drink at any point during the day…oh yeah! Plus I made it sugar free by using a little Truvia to sweeten it up a bit. An Irish coffee just isn’t’ the same without a little sweet.
