I have always been a true lover of all cinnamon rolls. When I was a kid I would BEG my parents to let me make them only because I knew if I could make them I could secretly put the most icing on my rolls. I wish I could say I wanted to make them because I wanted to help out but NOPE. It was all because of the frosting. However, there is one downside of cinnamon rolls. I eat them and in about 30 minutes I’m starving. They stick with me all of 10 seconds before my body is all “ummmm are you going to give me any protein?”

Well I listened to my body and came up with this recipe. I know it’s simple. I know it’s basic. But not everything has to be complicated.

Am I right?

Also since February is National Hot Breakfast month I’m here to show you that even though we don’t all have the time to eat a hot breakfast we can enjoy our favorite breakfast for brinner. Growing up I got giddy when my mom said it was brinner for dinner. Heck. Yes. Who doesn’t want all their favorite breakfast foods for dinner?

This recipe (of course!) is also the perfect addition. It’s super simple and only needs 2 ingredients – big fat cinnamon rolls and Jones Dairy Farm gold brown mild pork sausage breakfast links. PLUS it’s the perfect combination of sweet and savory. It’s got that whole “Oh I’m a sweet cinnamon roll” mixed with “oh here is some protein so you don’t starve.” Of course I would also recommend serving with some eggs to round it out and make it a complete meal.

Oh and check out this super fun video I shot with the totally lovely Running to the Kitchen! We teamed up to make these 2 brinner recipes and had a blast making them together. I brought the sweet and she brought the full on savory with her herbed cheddar sausage and egg waffle sandwiches.
