Bye Bye Summer…You Were Liked This Year

Donut peaches are the perfect way to say goodbye to summer. Sweet, juicy and perfect for munching.

This summer was one of the first (since I was a child) that I really truly enjoyed. It was not that hot, the AC didn’t have to continually run and I had a lot of time off from work. Back when I made my shiro plum tart I also had four adorable little donut peaches that were begging to be used. I had a great recipe picked out, but….well….I ate them before I could actually use them in a recipe.

I had been wanting to try a donut peach ever since I first saw them. The only problem was that I didn’t want to pay the hefty $2 a piece price tag. Luckily at the farmers market I picked up four of these beauties for around $1. Hooray for a deal! They were scrumptious and tasted better than a traditional peach in my opinion. I had already taken a bunch of pictures of the peaches so I decided to finally share them with you. It was a challenge to stack them up but I was persistent I could get a shot of all of them stacked up….and I did!

Make sure to pick some of these sweet little fruity beauties if you see them in the store or at your local farmers market…they are worth the price! Enjoy!

Yum… those peaches look delicious! I enjoyed this summer, too, because I like cooler weather. I must admit, though, that I’m glad it’s fall. My favorite time of the year!

Peaches were awesome over the summer. I’m a fall/winter kind of gal, too. I literally have my long sleeves and hoodies begging to be worn, But LA weather is pretty unpredictable. Summer’s been lingering a little while longer. Luckily, it’s not as significantly hot as the week before.

I give you credit. I could never live in LA….it’s to hot for me! The last time I was out there I was roasting.

    Pretty as a peach–literally!

And I don’t dislike bolgna. I do like it! I just never eat it unless I’m at my parents, usually because I like to load it up with mayo and cheese and ham…

And if I did that all the time, I would be a quite large blond duck.

I have to save me for myself.

What beautiful pictures!! I hated this summer. I hate every summer. I hate to be hot. I like being cold. I’m weird. Maybe it’s from living in Tucson for too long. The heat was treacherous there.

Yeah I prefer being cold over being hot. I just about freeze my poor boyfriend out of the bedroom in the summer…and the winter:) He says I like the bedroom to be like a wind tunnel.

I love a good, juicy peach but too often when I buy them they are dry inside…yuk. The pics are so pretty! I’m ready for fall and all the apple recipes!!!
