It’s summertime, so you know what that means? Burgers!

Sweet and spicy is such an exciting flavor bomb for the taste buds, and a great way to turn up the volume of a traditional burger.

These cheesy grilled peach jalapeño turkey burgers are light in fat and full of flavor!

With gooey cheddar cheese, sweet and juicy peaches, and spicy jalapeño, you’ll be the grill master in your neighborhood.

Alternative proteins

Now, to keep these burgers light on calories I went ahead and used lean ground turkey.

Another great lean ground meat to use would be chicken or pork!

Both will maintain a lower calorie content and absorb the delicious flavors.

Just remember, the less fat in the meat the easier it is to dry out! So make sure to not over grill your burgers.

I like to use an instant read thermometer to make sure my meat is fully cooked without being overcooked.

Spice level

You can control the level of spice in these cheesy grilled peach jalapeño turkey burgers.

In a jalapeño pepper, the heat comes from the seeds and the ribs. That’s the white part that the seeds are attached to.

By removing the seeds and the ribs, you significantly lower the spiciness of the pepper.

Alternatively, leaving the seeds and ribs intact will maintain all of the heat!

Make ahead

Seriously, no need to stress the day before your big backyard summer party!

Very easily, you can make these burger in advance!

Mix together the ingredients and form the patties, and keep them covered in the refrigerator for up to a day before your big event.

Then, on the day of the party or get together all you’ll need to do is put the on the grill and you’re good to go!

Storage and leftovers

The aioli can be stored in an airtight container and kept in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.

I like to use the leftover aioli on a Turkey and Cheese BLT Sandwich or a Summertime Tomato Sandwich.

The cooked burgers can be stored in an airtight container and kept in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Lastly, to reheat burgers, simply place them on a microwave safe dish covered loosely with a damp paper towel, and heat 2-3 minutes or until heated thoroughly.

And, if you’re feeling fancy give you bun a little toast in a toaster oven.
