Growing my Garden

This post brought to you by Miracle-Gro. All opinions are 100% mine.

A couple of weeks ago I shared a post where I showed off a bunch of pictures of my family. They were old black and white photos from a time where it was still acceptable to wash clothes outdoors in a bucket. I love looking at all those old pictures and imagining what it must be like to live in a simpler time. Then I get a little panicky when I think about life without my cell phone or wifi…so maybe I wouldn’t last that long.

In a perfect world I would be growing a huge garden like the ones in this post. I took those pictures at the Keswick Manor when I visited last summer. Talk about a dream garden! But in reality I only have the space for a herb container garden. Sadly the spring has been really cold so I can’t plant just yet BUT I’m patiently waiting to get to the nursery and get my plants! I have tried planting from seeds before but that never works out for me. Mostly because I don’t have a real yard with a lot of sunlight so I think the little seedlings just don’t get enough light. Plus the selection of already grown plants at my nursery is out of control. They have everything from basil (obviously) to stevia. Did you know you can grow your own stevia?! I’m going to get some help from Miracle-Gro this summer and hope that it helps out my basil. I kill it almost every single year. I swear, for something that EVERYONE says is simple to grow I cannot seem to keep it alive. All I want is a healthy basil plant with lots of leaves so I can have unlimited pesto this summer. Is that too much for a girl to ask?

Are you planting an herb garden this year? What is your absolute favorite herb to grow? Did you know you can share your growing stories at Gro Something Greater?
