Peach BBQ Grilled Turkey Legs

I’ve been DYING to get into the grilling spirit. Summertime grilling is my favorite because it means I get to be outside cooking and I have a limited amount of cleanup. Plus let’s be honest – grilled food just taste better. BUT Mother Nature is not playing nice and she is making my desire to grill pretty darn hard. On Monday it snowed 6 inches. 6 INCHES! That means it snowed more on a random Monday in April than it did the entire chunk of winter.

Also, I totally realize complaining about the weather is super lame but I want the sun! I want my grill! I want a pool! I want a fruity frozen cocktail that will cool me down instead of making me freeze. 

You know what else I’m super pumped for? Baked bean season! My grandmother used to make the best baked beans but they took hours. Obviously, I love cooking but I don’t want to spend hours making beans – it’s just not my thang. But you lucky for me (and my bean loving husband) I teamed up with BUSH’S® Beans to showcase their totally awesome Grillin’ Beans. And if you’re me your new favorite grilled meat is going to be turkey legs! They are flavorful, economical (seriously, so cheap!) and super simple to make. All you have to do is season them with salt and pepper and glaze with a homemade bbq sauce. For these bad boys I made my own really easy peach bbq sauce. It’s that perfect balance of sweet and savory. Plus all you have to do is saute and blend till smooth. Don’t let anyone tell you making bbq is hard. I’m here to prove them wrong!

Now, get into the kitchen, make the sauce and get to grilling those legs! Obviously, it’s a must to serve them with Grillin’ Beans because who doesn’t want to live it up with a giant turkey leg and a big bowl of beans? {If you’re my husband this is basically your dream meal. Not even kidding.}

Peach BBQ Grilled Turkey Legs

These peach bbq grilled turkey legs are the perfect summertime meat treat. Slathered with a homemade peach bbq sauce and grilled to perfection.

Cook Time: 1 hour 30 minutes

Total Time: 1 hour 50 minutes


  • 2 tablespoons olive oil 
  • 3/4 pound fresh peaches, peeled, seed and diced
  • 1 small sweet yellow onion 
  • 1 small jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced 
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar 
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup 
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon 
  • 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar 
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard 
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger 
  • 1/4 teaspoon chile powder 
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika  
  • Kosher salt and pepper, to taste 
  • 4 turkey legs 


In a medium sized sauce pan add olive oil and set over medium high heat. Once the oil is hot add the peaches, onion and jalapeño peppers. Sauté till the onions and peaches are soft. Remove from the heat.

In a blender add the peach mixture as well as the remaining ingredients minus the turkey legs. Blend until smooth.

Add back to the sauce pan and cook down until thickened and warmed throughout.

Heat your grill to medium heat.

Season your turkey legs with salt and pepper and add to the grill. Cook for about 45 minutes and then baste with the peach bbq sauce. Continue cooking and basting until the turkey legs reach an internal temperature of 180 degrees. This should take about 14-20 more minutes.

Full cooking time on the turkey could vary depending on size.
