Random Product Love {1}

A collection of all my favorite things. This random product love lets you in on what I use and love.

Product Love by Nutmeg Nanny

I’m going to be starting a few new small series on Nutmeg Nanny. These series are going to help me share more about myself and my life. A good percentage of you mentioned in the reader survey that you would like to know more about me and what I like.

Random product love is going to be a collection of products I’m currently enjoying. Some of them are purchased with my own money and others have been sent to me by companies. Don’t worry, I will always let you know what I received for free. All of these pictures are from my Instagram and this is meant to be a casual post so I apologize for the not so professional looking pictures. I hope you enjoy!

Fruttare Fruit and Milk Bars – About $4.00 a box

This summer I was asked to sample some Fruttare bars and give my opinion. Well, honestly I loved them. I tried them in 3 different flavors. Banana and milk, strawberry and milk and mango. All of them were delicious but I would have to say the banana and milk was my favorite. It had a fresh banana flavor without the usual artificial banana flavor that often occampanies banana products.

The strawberry flavor was just as creamy and fresh tasting. I really liked the milk addition because it reminded me of a creamy popsicle. Almost as if a popsicle and an ice cream bar had a baby. It’s a perfect mix of fruit and cream.

* I was paid to review Fruttare bars but all opinions are 100% my own.

Trader Joe’s Sweetened Condensed Milk – $2.49 a bottle

I have been LOVING Trader Joe’s bottled sweetened condensed milk. I love that I can use just a little for split dessert recipes, coffee or a sweet pick me up. After it’s been opened it needs to be refrigerated but still squeezes out easily when cold. Trust me, if you make a lot of small desserts and hate wasting a half open can of sweetened condensed milk this stuff is for you!

Herban Essentials: Lavender Towelettes – $16.00 for a bag of 20 towelettes

A few years ago I visited California for work. While there my boss had these lovely towelettes in her bag. I fell in love and knew I had to get my hands on some of these bad boys. The lavender smell is natural and not too overpowering. In my opinion these are a great alternative to antibacterial gel. I find the antibacterial stuff dries out my hands and has been proven to not always work that well. While these are not antibacterial they will clean your hands and leave them smelling lovely.

If you’re not a fan of lavender they also offer their towelettes in orange, lemon, peppermint and eucalyptus.

Scrappy’s Bitters – About $23 for a big bottle or a small sample pack for 4

Earlier this summer I used Scrappy’s Bitters in a few cocktails {bourbon and grapefruit shrub & dark and stormy} for my Boozy Days of Summer event. They are awesome and come in 8 different flavors – lavender, aromatic, orange, chocolate, celery, grapefruit, lime and cardamom. I personally love having the small sample bottles because I don’t go through them that fast and I have a lot of flavors on hand.

If you’re really into cocktail making having a nice selection of bitters is a must have.

* These bitters were sent to me for free but I was not monetarily compensated for a review.

Sabra hummus, salsa, guacamole and veggie dip

The nice folks at Sabra sent me a nice selection of their products after I met one of their reps at The Big Summer Potluck. I have always loved Sabra products but sadly I must confess I no longer eat hummus due to a slight sesame allergy. Before I was diagnosed with my allergy I would eat Sabra all the time. It was my favorite store bought hummus. Now my husband is enjoying all the hummus goodies. Yesterday he ate a whole container for lunch. It’s really that good!

Before I received this shipment I had never had their salsa, veggie dip or guacamole. So good! I’m loving the salsa with Trader Joe’s sweet potato corn chips. The salsa is fresh, chunky and has a nice spicy bite.

* These products were sent to me for free but I was not monetarily compensated for a review.

Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte – Around $4-5 for a grande latte

I’m sure you have all heard of this delicious little concoction. They were released early this year and I basically jumped for joy when I heard. I have already enjoyed 3 this week but I’m planning on slowing down. I don’t want to waste too much money at Starbucks. I have a budget to keep in mind.

Also, I need to paint my nails. Whoops!

Noosa Yoghurt – About $2.50 for an 8 ounce container

Is it ok to love a yoghurt more than your husband? Ok, I’m totally kidding. But I do really love this yoghurt. It’s creamy and not overly tangy. It’s full of good cultures and according to their website it “is made in small batches, set, and infused with honey to give it that delicious sweet-tart tang, and smooth, velvety texture…”

I have tried almost all of the flavors and have yet to be disappointed. My favorite flavor is a tie between the tart cherry (only available at Target) and the blueberry.

Easton Place Designs Paper Lovelies – Cost based on custom order

I worked Easton Place {the lovely owner is Patti} for all of my wedding paper products. This was my last wedding order I placed. My totally beautiful thank you cards. If you are looking for custom stationary Patti is your lady. She does fantastic work and really loves her job. She goes the extra mile and can do just about anything you need.

Patti is the best and I’m so glad I made the choice to work with her for my wedding.

* Patti did not pay me to write a review. Everything was paid for with my money and I truly loved all her work.

Coco Cafe Coconut Water Cafe Latte – About $2.00 per container

I bought this little container of coconut water cafe latte on a whim. I was standing in the line at a grocery store and saw it staring me in the face. I’m such a sucker. I opened the cooler and popped one in my cart. The coffee flavor was not overpowering or bitter and the coconut water was a nice touch.

I don’t think I would replace my usual morning coffee with this drink but it’s a great little afternoon pick-me-up.

10 color pen – $10.00 on Amazon but purchased on clearance at Staples for $1.99

I love this pen because it reminds me of being a kid. I had one of these a long time ago and I would spend hours writing notes and doodling. There isn’t too much to write about this pen except that it’s awesome. It has 10 different colors and it’s basically the best pen ever.

Trader Joe’s Dried Chile Spiced Mango –  About $3.00 for a 8ounce bag

I tried this once and I have been in LOVE! I should warn you that this product is not for everyone. Some people seem to love it and others think it’s just too weird. It’s a nice mix of sweet chewy mango and spicy smoky chili spice. If you’re a big fan of these type of flavors you will want to check it out. Trust me!

21st Amendment Brewery: Hell or High Watermelon & Marooned on Hog Island beer – About $10 for a 6 pack

I have been digging the Hell or High Watermelon beer this summer. It’s light and refreshing and does not sit heavy. At first I was freaked out by the idea of a watermelon and beer but it works. If you’re not a beer fan I would recommend at least giving this a try. We also sampled Marooned on Hog Island beer. It’s a littler strong and while I preferred the watermelon beer my husband liked the Hog Island beer.

I have found Noosa at Stop & Shop and Target. Target had the largest flavor selection. I hope you find it. It’s amazing!

I’m obsessed with the coconut water latte! I would drink them all day long if it wouldn’t put me in the poorhouse. Also, I need to try that Noosa stuff. I haven’t been able to bring myself to pay so much for yogurt but the strawberry rhubarb flavor calls my name whenever I’m at the store!
