Truvia Kitchen Cabinet Announcement

Just a little announcement…

I have a fun announcement for all of you. For the next yeah I’m going to be working with Truvia as part of the Truvia Kitchen Cabinet! I’m going to be sharing delicious recipes and highlighting some of their many campaigns. My first recipe will be coming at your next week. I hope you can wait 🙂 But first I wanted to tell you a little bit more about Truvia and their current campaign. Truvia is made from the Stevia plant. I’m sure at this point we have all heard about Stevia. It’s that sweet little herb that is taking the sugar free world by storm. Truvia is also a great tasting, zero-calorie sweetener made from the best part of the stevia leaf. The best part being the sweetest and most pure tasting…yum!

Now, if you read the infograph (which I hope you did!) you will see that Truvia is helping out a lot of families in Boliva. Why Boliva? Because Boliva happens to be where the stevia plant originated. So the Truvia brand launched a new social media campaign to support its $1,000,000 “Sharing a Sweet Future” charitable initiative in partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme to help reduce childhood hunger in Bolivia.

Every day, over 40% of Bolivian families struggle to support their children’s most basic food needs:
• Two-thirds of the Bolivian population is below the poverty line
• The majority Bolivian children do not receive the minimum daily caloric intake and are suffering from nutritional deficiencies
• The widespread use of primitive cook stoves resulting in harmful smoke exposure has led to a number of health issues for Bolivian families
I know. It’s hard to read about suffering but sadly it’s all around us. I’m happy to hear Truvia is helping and I’m happy to be on board helping them spread the word. I hope you will enjoy my new partnership and all of the sweet, savory and cocktail recipes that come along with it.
