How to make ramen stir fry
Making this dish is super easy and only requires a bit of time to go from stove to plate!
- Marinated the meat
- If I have the time I like to marinate the meat overnight but at the very minimum, a few hours should be just fine. This helps really pack in flavor for the meat. The marinade is full of ginger, lemongrass, chilies, garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, and a little sesame oil. If you’re allergic to sesame you can replace it with olive oil.
- Prepare the sauce
- Whisk together the sauce so it’s ready to use when you’re cooking the dish.
- Cook the noodles
- Cook up your noodles but do not add the included flavor packets. They can be thrown away or saved for when you’re making box-direction ramen noodles.
- Steam the broccoli
- I like to use microwavable steam bags to make things even easier!
- Throw it all together
- After browning the meat, add in the sauce, toss with the noodles, add the broccoli, and boom you have dinner! How easy and fast was that?
Storage of leftovers
Any leftovers can be stored in a covered in air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
If the sauce gets a little thick in the fridge you can loosen the dish by adding in a little water or beef stock before reheating.

Ingredients
For meat:
- 1-1/2 pound sirloin beef tips thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil or olive oil
- 1 tablespoon grated lemongrass
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon grated garlic
- 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
- 1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon dark brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
For sauce:
- 1/4 cup low soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
For cooking:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cups steamed broccoli
- 3 3 ounce packets ramen noodles, cooked and flavor packet thrown away
Instructions
For meat:
- Thinly slice the beef and set aside.
- In a large bowl whisk together sesame oil, lemongrass, ginger, garlic, chili garlic sauce, soy sauce, cornstarch, dark brown sugar, and baking soda. Add the meat to the mixture, stir to combine, cover the bowl and marinate overnight in the fridge. If you do not have the time to marinate overnight let it sit in the marinade as long as possible.
- Give the meat a stir a couple of times while marinating so everything is equally marinated.
For sauce:
- In a small bowl whisk together soy sauce, water, brown sugar, flour, and hoisin sauce, and set aside.
To cook:
- Set a large high-sided skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and when the oil is hot add in the marinated meat, making sure to scrape out all the marinade from the bowl.
- Let the beef get browned and golden in the pan, giving it a stir every few minutes.
- Give the sauce a stir (just in case the flour has settled to the bottom) and add to the pan with the meat. Stir to combine and let it cook for a few minutes or until it starts to thicken up slightly.
- Add in the steamed broccoli and cooked ramen and toss to combine.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
