Cinnamon Baked Apples

These cinnamon baked apples are the perfect dessert for fall, with sweet, soft apples, warm cinnamon, and crunchy walnuts; they’re cozy and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 6 sweet apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar divided
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cups of orange juice

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Wash the apples and with a knife, core each apple starting at the stem, removing the center of the apple. This can also be done with an apple corer if you own one.
  • Place each apple in a 9x13 dish.
  • In a small bowl mix together 1/4 cup of the brown sugar, chopped walnuts, and cinnamon.
  • Place an equal amount of filling into each of the cored apples.
  • Divide the butter into 6 equal pieces and top each one of the apples.
  • In a small bowl whisk together the orange juice and the remaining brown sugar.
  • Pour into the bottom of the dish.
  • Add the apples to the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes or until the apples are soft and the syrup has thickened.
  • Serve warm plain or topped with ice cream or whipped cream.
