Brown Butter Pumpkin Waffles with Chocolate Chips

These brown butter chocolate chip pumpkin waffles are the perfect sweet way to start your day. Packed full of melty chocolate, nutty brown butter and delicious pumpkin.

  • In a medium sized skillet set over medium heat melt the butter until it starts to foam and you see golden brown specks in the butter. You will also notice it will start to smell nutty.
  • Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Preheat waffle iron.
  • In a medium sized mixing bowl whisk together flour, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, baking soda and kosher salt.
  • In a large sized mixing bowl whisk together eggs, buttermilk, vanilla extract, pumpkin puree and cooled brown butter.
  • Add dry ingredients into wet and stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Spray your waffle iron with non-stick spray and cook waffles according to waffle iron directions.
  • Top cooked waffles with your choice of whipped cream, chocolate sauce or maple syrup.
