- 1/2 cup brown sugar divided
- 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cups of orange juice
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
Wash the apples and with a knife, core each apple starting at the stem, removing the center of the apple. This can also be done with an apple corer if you own one.
Place each apple in a 9x13 dish.
In a small bowl mix together 1/4 cup of the brown sugar, chopped walnuts, and cinnamon.
Place an equal amount of filling into each of the cored apples.

In a small bowl whisk together the orange juice and the remaining brown sugar.
Pour into the bottom of the dish.
Add the apples to the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes or until the apples are soft and the syrup has thickened.
Serve warm plain or topped with ice cream or whipped cream.
