Gingerbread Waffles

These gingerbread waffles are the perfect winter breakfast treat. Filled with warm spices and a touch of molasses. You'll love waking up to these on the table!

  • 2 cups all-purpose baking mix Bisquick
  • cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup milk
  • cup molasses
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 large egg whites

Instructions

  • Whisk together baking mix, brown sugar, cornstarch, and spices in a medium bowl.
  • Add milk, molasses, and melted butter to dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined.
  • In a small bowl, whisk egg whites. Whisk until frothy, about 2 minutes.
  • Gently fold in egg whites to batter. Stir until just combined. Batter will be slightly lumpy.
  • Let the batter rest for 10 minutes whole you heat your waffle iron.
  • Heat the waffle iron and once fully heated, spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Add about 3/4 cup of batter per waffle to the make and cook according to manufacturer instructions for the waffle iron.
  • This will make about four large 7-inch waffles.
  • Serve with maply syrup, whipped cream, or powdered sugar.
