Honey Garlic Chicken Bowls

These honey garlic chicken bowls are full of lean, protein packed chicken breast, sweet honey, garlic, and soy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast cut into 3/4 inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic about 3 medium cloves
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 cups cooked white rice
  • Green onion for topping
  • Sesame seeds for topping

Instructions

  • Place the cubed chicken breast and flour in a large bowl (or bag) and toss until the chicken is fully coated with flour. 
  • Add the olive oil to a large skillet set over medium-high heat.
  • When the oil is hot, add the chicken in a single layer. 
  • Cook the chicken for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally.
  • When the chicken is cooked through, add the garlic and cook for an additional minute. 
  • Next whisk together the honey, water, and soy sauce.
  • Add the sauce to the pan and stir to coat the chicken. 
  • Bring the sauce to a boil and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until it is bubbling and thick. 
  • Serve immediately overtop rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
