These balsamic strawberries are the perfect summertime dessert. Made with aged balsamic and topped with fresh whipped cream.
Today while I was at work I realized I would have no time to put something on my blog.
Since I do genuinely love my blog I didn’t want to neglect it.
I looked around my boss’s house for inspiration and I found it tucked away in the back corner of the pantry. There sat a small bottle of aged balsamic.
The second I saw the little bottle I knew what I wanted to do so I hightailed it to the market and picked up some strawberries and heavy cream.
The second I got back to my boss’s house I cut up my berries and started the maceration process.
After a few hours, I decided it was time to start whipping the cream (aka: arm exercise) and dig into my summer dessert.
I had never tried balsamic with strawberries before and I will honestly have to say that after today I’m a HUGE fan.
The syrupy-aged balsamic added so much extra flavor to the berries and I was truly shocked at how well it tasted.
I whipped my cream by hand and didn’t add any sugar but if sweetened cream is your forte then by all means add some sugar. Enjoy!!!

Balsamic Strawberries
Ingredients
For berries:
- 1 pound strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon aged balsamic vinegar
For whipped cream:
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
Instructions
For berries:
- In a small mixing bowl add strawberries, granulated sugar, and balsamic vinegar and stir to combine.
- Cover and sit for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Spoon into serving bowls and top with fresh whipped cream if desired.
For whipped cream:
- In a cold metal bowl add cream and whip with a whisk until stiff peaks have formed. You can also use a mixer to whip the cream.
