Iced Oatmeal Applesauce Cookies by Nutmeg Nanny

Ok ladies. I gotta confess something. I love “The Bachelor”…I know. It’s pathetic to admit but I absolutely cannot get enough of this show. It’s only the second episode and I’m already picking favorites. Does anyone else watch? Come on…you can admit it. This is safe place where you can feel free to admit all that is the truth :)

I also want to point out how much of a crazy women Michelle is. I swear she is freaking boil the bunny crazy. On the first episode she was talking one on one with the camera and all intense she says “it will kill me if I do not get the first impression rose.” Ummmm ok crazy. Last night was the second episode and she didn’t let me down, she was still on the crazy train. She threatens to pack her stuff and leave because she has not yet gotten a date with Jake. Of course some of the girls try to talk her out of it, which I don’t get, it’s a competition for one man. If one of the girls wants to leave help them pack their bags and show them out the door.

Oh and one more thing. Elizabeth, the nanny, wrote him a letter…hahahahaha. Who does this. Is this first grade? Then she tells him “don’t kiss me unless it means forever.” I mean seriously. I get that you should be serious about wanting a relationship but should you come off that desperate? Then again that is pretty much the theme of the show. Now this is officially that last* thing I will mention about the Bachelor. I have read a lot of information about the Rozyln scandal and I’m not feeling so bad about her now. I think there was a lot of implying and not a lot of proof in the shows accusations.  Also why did there need to be a guard standing by as she packed her bag? Did they worry she would steal the linens?

Ok I’m so sorry loyal readers. I just had to get all of that off my chest. I cannot talk to Mr.Nutmeg Nanny about this. He would just laugh. He finds most everything funny. Including most of my drama filled Lifetime movies I watch.

I guess I should reward you all for listening to my ramblings by providing you with a tasty recipe. These cookies came from my Martha Stewart Cookies book and are very tasty indeed. I made my own applesauce for the cookies but jarred would work equally as fine. Enjoy!!!

* By last I mean today. I cannot say I will not talk about it any more this season.  :)

P.S. I may also secretly love Jersey Shore… :)

This isn’t a show that I’ve watched. I generally find reality shows so scripted, that they anything but realty, which does make me laugh.
On the other hand the cookies look great.

I don’t watch the show so I have no comment about that (except that reading your ramblings about it was quite amusing), but I would like to have your recipe for applesauce! I’ve never made it.

We all have our secret trashy TV loves. Mine are all the MTV dating shows like Rock of Love etc. I spend all day analyzing federal and state policies on public health issues, I need some BAD tv to turn off my mind at the end of the day. Thanks for being brave enough to admit your vice!

I’ve never watched The Bachelor, but I can see why everyone else is so interested in it. He’s one handsome fella! My guilty pleasure is Ugly Betty, although I can’t watch it anymore because they moved the time I’m never home Wednesday nights!

Your so funny! I don’t watch either of these shows. But I did see some scandalous news about it on-line today. I love the cookies! They remind me of the old-fashioned iced oatmeal cookies – only better!

Thanks for playing along in the chocolate relay. And I’m glad you liked your bar! You’ll have to let me know if it really turns out to be as good as it sounds.

all cookies should be iced, and that’s that. meanwhile, although i’m not hooked on this season’s bachelor (yet), i’ve been known to stop heaven and earth to watch an episode in the past. :)

The ostriches are not cute, nor nice.

And they don’t have cute ‘tocks. I much prefer hippos and puppies.

I watched the first two episodes of the Bachelor, but I have to say I’m getting a little bored already! The girls aren’t as crazy as others have been which means not as fun to watch…He is so dreamy though!
