Hosmer Mountain Soda Shack

In October my boyfriend took me to an awesome place, Hosmer Mountain Soda Shack in Manchester Connecticut.  This little soda shack is tiny but full of delicious bubbly drinks. If soda isn’t your thing (I know I’m trying to cut it out….) you’re in luck because they also make seltzer water.  Which is equally delicious. I know. I tried the tangerine flavor. When I walked through the door I felt like it was a blast to the past. All these little glass bottles stacked up waiting to be taken home and drank. I don’t know why soda in a glass bottle makes me happy but it does 🙂

The one thing I didn’t like about the soda was that I found out that most of their soda is made with high fructose corn syrup. Bummer, but I think if you drinking soda in moderation, which you should be, I don’t think it’s the end of the world. Now if you are totally anti HFCS they do have an antique line of soda that is only made with pure cane sugar. They offer those in birch beer, root beer, cream soda, sarsaparilla and dangerous ginger beer, which happens to be my all time favorite. What makes it dangerous? It’s spicy. Which sounds like a weird word to describe a soda but I’m sold on it’s deliciousness. I have yet to try their peach flavor soda but I’m patiently waiting for them to make another batch for summer. Peach soda has always been a favorite of mine 🙂 Never had it? Go out and try it….you will love it! (If you don’t love it I apologize 🙂 ) Oh and finally the thing I love most about this company. They deliver. That’s right. They will deliver soda to your house. They service most towns in Eastern Connecticut. How awesome is that? It reminds me of something out of Mayberry 🙂

So if you ever find yourself driving down Spencer Street in Manchester Connecticut why don’t you stop by and pick up a few bottles…you will be happy you did! You can also stop at their main location in Willimantic, CT. Enjoy!!! 🙂

  1. What an adorable soda shack. We will be up that direction on college visits. I will be on the lookout for this soda. I love that they make it without high fructose corn syrup! Great photos!

  2. I love soda – if you work out how to cut it out, let me know. The only times I can go without it are when I am away somehwre that it is hard to get. The flavours all sound good – but I am a sucker for ginger beer – yum!

  4. I don’t think anythings bad in moderation. I don’t like soda b/c I don’t like the carbonation (the bubbles tickle my nose, I know, I’m weird) but they’re cute!

    German apple pie coming soon…
