Welcome to day six of The Twelve Boozy Days of Christmas!
I know I already posted a recipe for mulled cider but this warm vanilla cider is equally delicious. It’s spiked with bourbon and filled with tons of vanilla flavor. I swear vanilla just makes me swoon. When I see it in a title of a recipe I get really excited. I know it’s lame to get that excited over a bean…but it’s an awesome bean! Is there anyone out there that hates vanilla? If so speak up. I want to know why…
Ok back to the cider. It’s good. Try it. You’ll thank me
Warm Vanilla Cider:
6 cups fresh apple cider
2 tablespoons packed dark-brown sugar
2 whole nutmeg seeds
1 vanilla bean – split and scraped
6 ounces bourbon
Vanilla Whipped cream
Combine apple cider, dark-brown sugar, nutmeg seeds, and vanilla bean in a medium saucepan. Gently simmer over medium-low heat for 15 minutes. Remove from heat, and add bourbon if desired. Remove and discard solids. Divide among 6 mugs or heatproof glasses, and top each with a dollop of vanilla whipped cream.

Your skillet cinnamon apples were just what I was wanting! I’d remembered them but lost the recipe! Thanks so much!
The cider with vanilla sounds awesome! I also really loved your recipe for the Rum Spiked White Hot Chocolate! So many wonderful holiday drink ideas!

I am such such such a vanilla lover. This sounds delicious! Maybe even with a caramel drizzle…
This vanilla definitely adds to the aroma of this drink.
Anything vanilla especially with cider has got to be so tasty. This looks great!

Daaahling, by the time Christmas rolls around, you are going to be in a stupor LOL.

Mmm, vanilla in cider sounds amazing! I swoon for vanilla too…even the scent alone mesmerizes me!
(Oddly enough I hate the smell of those pseudo-vanilla perfumes though…gag!)
Yum!
