These spiced lamb burgers are topped with apricot goat cheese and lots of peppery arugula. These are the perfect change to your normal burger night.

Growing up we ate homemade burgers at least once a week. Usually they were the same each and every week – grilled ground beef topped with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, yellow mustard and ketchup. Totally delicious but nothing to really rave about.
As soon as I started experimenting in my own kitchen I knew the burger was where I was going to start. At first I started with different toppings and then I started experimenting with different types of ground meats. It took me a long time to finally try ground lamb because my dad was never a fan. He talks about the one time he tried lamb in Canada and how horribly awful it was. I still think he must have been given mutton instead of delicious spring lamb. I know this because my grilled lamb is not even close to horribly awful. {Trust me!}

When Kita of Girl Carnivore asked me if I wanted to participate in Burger Month I didn’t even hesitate to say “of course!” I would never turn down the chance to make another burger for the blog. Especially since I only seem to have two burger recipes {smoked blue cheese patty melt & Greek chicken burgers} my blog is lacking in that department!
These spiced lam burgers are made with tons of spices and topped with fresh crumbled apricot goat cheese and arugula. I love the sweet bite of apricot mixed with the lamb but regular crumbled goat cheese would work just as well. Trust me, if you’re a fan of lamb you have to give these burgers a try.

Love all the flavor in this wonderful lamb burger.
Oh yum a lamb burger! I have never seen apricot goat cheese but I bet it tastes great with the lamb and arugula.
Such a gorgeous burger – and that goat cheese?! Swoon!
This looks fantastic! I’ve never seen apricot goat cheese — do you think I could add chopped apricots to plain crumbled goat cheese? I love the combo of apricots and lamb.
My favorite burger creation is jerk-spiced beef burger topped with jack cheese and pineapple-lime salsa.
What a great idea to make lamb burgers spicy–two of my favorite things. I can’t wait to try this!
This really looks awesome. Apricot crumbled goats cheese? … this is going to be legendary!
since i dont beef – lamb burgers are my absolute favorite!
What a treat, lamb. I grew up on a farm and it was common. Now ground lamb is almost an oddity in the markets. Looks delish—–I could easily sit on my deck and enjoy one of these on a soft summer evening.
I am not a big fan of lamb or goat cheese, but this recipe might just convert me! It looks too delicious to pass up!
