This coconut gelato iced coffee affogato is the perfect way to celebrate your love of coffee and dessert. Super simple and only uses 4 ingredients! Hello delicious!

About 9 years ago I went to Italy and feel in love with all things Italian. I ate my weight in gelato and wanted nothing more than to eat pasta for every single meal. Honestly I didn’t care if it was 7am I wanted pasta…and gelato…and wine…
You get it. It’s the whole Italian thing.
But, one night after dinner {and few bottles of wine} I was looking for something sweet to end my meal. The waiter mentioned something about coffee and ice cream and also something about coffee and whiskey. I went coffee style and my friend opted for whiskey. When they delivered our ice cream I watched them pour delicious espresso overtop my ice cream and whiskey overtop my friends ice cream.

After one bite I was sold on the whole hot coffee over cold ice cream. However, my friend was not sold on the whole whiskey poured over ice cream.
Soooooo because I’m a total sucker I offered to switch.
What a sucker I was in my younger life. Luckily I can make myself an affogato anytime I want. Especially now that I’m the proud owner of a iCoffee Opus maker. It makes making coffee easy and 100% delicious.

If there is one thing I tend to dislike about the whole “single serving” coffee makers it’s the inability to have a wide selection of cups to use or the inability to simply use my favorite ground coffee in the machine. Oh, and don’t even get my started on how hard it is to pick the size of coffee I want.
Sometimes I want a lot – something I only want a little.
I know you feel me.
That’s why I was pumped to learn that the iCoffee machine comes with an eco friendly refillable brew cup, fits all brand k-style cups AND you can pick you brew size .5 increments.
Holla! This is coffee heaven.
{I also made a little video showing how this baby works AND how to make this lovely affogato. So check it out and leave some love!}
Also because of the iCoffee Opus machine SpinBrew technology my coffee has no bitter or acidic aftertaste. Which means I was able to brew the perfect cup of coffee for my coconut gelato affogato. In just about an minute I brewed myself up a big cup of coffee, cooled it down in the fridge and then poured it over coconut gelato. For extra flair I threw on toasted coconut and chocolate sauce.
I know traditionally an affogato is served with hot coffee BUT it’s summer and I want to keep cool so I opted to do it cold style.
Plus I just really think cold coffee is the best.
{Random side note: every time I use the world “flair” I think of Office Space.}
