Homemade Nutella
I took a break for a couple of months but I’m happy to report I’m back for this months Secret Recipe Club! Lucky for me I got a GREAT blog to work with – Dinner, Dishes, and Desserts. After looking over all the recipes I finally settled on making homemade Nutella. I have been wanting to make it for a long time but somehow never got around to it.
I changed very little about the recipe and was beyond impressed! By impressed I mean I started shoveling it into my mouth until I had to put it away for fear I would gain a million more pounds. It was that delicious!
Homemade Nutella
Ingredients:
1 cup hazelnuts – toasted
220 grams dark chocolate - melted
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
3 tablespoons honey
4 tablespoons coconut oil - melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup coconut milk
Adapted from: Dinner, Dishes, and Desserts
Directions:
Process hazelnuts in the food processor for about 5 minutes until smooth, nut butter in texture. After desired consistency is met add melted chocolate, unsweetened cocoa powder, honey, melted coconut oil and vanilla extract. Pulse to combine and add in coconut milk. Pulse again until combined. Add to storage container and enjoy!

This looks fantastic! Yum – I totally need to make this, nutella is one of my favorites!
GReat SRC pick! I have never made homemade Nutella either, definitely on my to do list now!
oooh, yum! I have seen a few recipes for homemade nutella before, but haven’t tried doing it myself yet, I think I need to- this looks wonderful!
Stop it! This looks amazing! I never even thought about home making this goodness! Great recipe choice!
What an amazing recipe. And perfect timing too – right in the midst of my Nutella obsession
Looks great! I keep meaning to try this but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
I won’t buy Nutella because I have visions of standing in front of the cupboard, spoon in hand, just eating it out of the jar! But I’m tempted even more now to make it from scratch! Thanks (I think)-great pick.
Glad you liked it! Makes me want to make it again
This is brilliant. I want some now!
This looks delicious! Considering how much I love to use the jarred stuff, I would love to try and make it at home
You’d have to keep that away from me…I know I wouldn’t be able to stop eating it! YUM!
I’m so incredibly thrilled that Nutella is actually “make-able” at home. It’s been getting a bit expensive buying jar after jar after jar. Plus, I just bought a jar of coconut oil so I have all the ingredients on hand!
I think, no, I KNOW, that I love you.
Um, you can send some my way if you want to skip the pounds…who doesn’t love nutella?!
OK, this is too much! I switched to group A because you were in it, and I had hoped I could get assigned to you some time. Then I didn’t see you posting for SRC any more and I was like, “it figures, she quit right when I switched!” haha, and now I see you’re back and wouldn’t you know it…I opted out for June. Figures, right? Well, that’s OK, we’re both active this month and in the same group. Yippee!
Love your homemade Nutella! I could totally eat that whole jar as a meal.
Wow, this looks amazing. If only I had a food processor!
Oh my! I’m already a total Nutella addict, so a homemade version with dark chocolate would probably disappear in 2 minutes flat in my house. I’m not pinning this. Nope. Totally not.
(Oops! Did my finger just hit the Pin It button all on its own? Dang.)
I’ve been dying to make this but I know it would be waist-line disaster central! but probably so worth it.
I, too, have always wanted to make homemade Nutella. This looks like such an easy recipe, I need to get on it!
Homemade Nutella????? Oh yeah!
Oh my goodness! This is such a wonderful idea; I don’t think I’ve ever seen a recipe for homemade nutella before!
This looks very delicious! Will bookmark this recipe.
I love it and this recipe is “safe” for my daughter’s allergies. Saving this one.
If you haven’t already, I’d love for you to check out my SRC recipe this month: Fruit, Nut & Poppy Seed Chicken Salad.

I love that you used coconut oil and milk in this recipe. It looks and sounds simply devine!!! I think I’ll try your recipe sometime soon. I’ll let you know when I do
oh honey – a million more pounds isn’t so bad when you get to mow down on homemade nutella!
i love it!
happy src reveal from a group D member!
Isn’t homemade nutella the bomb. I made it a few months ago, and also wondered the same thing. Why did I wait so long. Never going back after figuring out how easy it is!!
L cannot wait for that certain recipe that you posted a photo of on Instagram.

Homemade nutella should be illegal….haha. The instagram recipe will be up a little later than planned but I promise it will be soon!
I made this, and it was absolutely delicious!! More flavorful than the store bought stuff. The key is to roast the hazelnuts while constantly stirring for an awful long time until they smell intensely of hazelnuts. And I have enough to last me a looooong time!

Hi Mark: I’m so glad you gave it a try and loved it! When I make it I can’t stop eating it with a spoon…haha.
