Ingredients for copycat Chick-fil-A sauce
- Mayonnaise – Mayonnaise makes a perfect creamy base for the sauce.
- Lemon juice – Lemon juice adds a bright, citrusy flavor.
- Yellow mustard – Yellow mustard is tangy and tart and helps compliment the sweet flavors.
- BBQ sauce – Feel free to use your favorite homemade or store-bought varieties!
- Honey – Honey will add a touch of sweetness and also help thicken the sauce.
- Apple cider vinegar – Apple cider vinegar is tangy and has a slight sweetness.
- Liquid smoke – Liquid smoke will add a touch of smokiness to the sauce.
- Spices – I’ve used a combination of smoked paprika and garlic powder to balance the sauce’s flavors.

Why yellow mustard?
Plain ol’ yellow mustard is perfect here because it has a clean and simple mustard flavor.
Other mustards like dijon, or spicy brown, would add different flavors that would alter the final taste.
Using bottled lemon juice
For this application, you could substitute bottled lemon juice for fresh in a pinch.
