Who doesn’t like dunking chicken nuggets and hot and crispy fries into the perfectly sweet and savory Chick-fil-A sauce?

But what do you do if it’s a Sunday, Chick-fil-A is closed, and you’ve got a craving that won’t quit?

This copycat Chick-fil-A sauce is easy to pull together, and is made from ingredients you most likely already have in your fridge and pantry!

With a blend of condiments like mayo, mustard, and BBQ sauce, mixed with spices (smoked paprika, and garlic powder,) some sweet honey, bright lemon juice, and tangy vinegar, you’ve got the perfect copycat.

So next time that craving hits, be ready for it, and whip up a batch of this homemade Chick-fil-A sauce!

Ingredients to make Copycat Chick-fil-A Sauce on a table.

Ingredients for copycat Chick-fil-A sauce

  • Mayonnaise – Mayonnaise makes a perfect creamy base for the sauce.
  • Lemon juice – Lemon juice adds a bright, citrusy flavor.
  • Yellow mustard – Yellow mustard is tangy and tart and helps compliment the sweet flavors.
  • BBQ sauce – Feel free to use your favorite homemade or store-bought varieties!
  • Honey – Honey will add a touch of sweetness and also help thicken the sauce.
  • Apple cider vinegar – Apple cider vinegar is tangy and has a slight sweetness.
  • Liquid smoke – Liquid smoke will add a touch of smokiness to the sauce.
  • Spices – I’ve used a combination of smoked paprika and garlic powder to balance the sauce’s flavors.

Why yellow mustard?

Plain ol’ yellow mustard is perfect here because it has a clean and simple mustard flavor.

Other mustards like dijon, or spicy brown, would add different flavors that would alter the final taste.

Using bottled lemon juice

For this application, you could substitute bottled lemon juice for fresh in a pinch.
