These apple nachos are the BEST way to enjoy them.
Especially if you have a sweet tooth!
I took a simple sweet red apple, sliced it up, and then topped it with warmed caramel, Nutella, toasted almonds, chocolate chips, and toasted coconut.

What is the best apple for apple nachos?
I personally like to use a sweeter firm red apple such as a Fuji apple.
They are easy to find and available year round.
If you really enjoy the tart and sweet combo try using a tart apple like Granny Smith.
Can I use any other toppings?
Of course!
I happened to use what I was craving and what I had on hand for these apple nachos.
Some other great topping ideas are:
- whipped cream
- chocolate sauce
- white chocolate chips
- Salty peanuts
Can I make this recipe ahead of time?
The issue with making apple nachos too far in advance is that the apples can brown.
Yes, that is why I tossed them in lemon juice BUT I still prefer to serve the apples freshly sliced.
How do I store apple nachos?
I opt to just serve these fresh and not store them.
The recipe only uses 2 apples so if you need less just cut the recipe in half.

Looks yummy! What would you suggest in place of coconut. I love it but family doesn't. This looks too good to pass up!

If your family doesn't like coconut you could use toffee bits, dried cranberries or even different flavored baking chips. I hope you give them a try!

I just looove your version of nachos. I'll take these over chips and cheese any day. Okay maybe I'd still eat the cheese (cuz I really love cheese). Apples are great with cheese, so I'll eat the cheese and the Apple Nachos!
