It’s finally summer! Well, it’s almost the kickoff to summer – Memorial Day! I’m hoping this means that Mother Nature will get her act together and start giving me some sun. My plan for the weekend is to totally suck upthe vitamin D and maybe get a tan.
In reality I will probably just eat too many hot dogs and drink too many drinks.
What can I say. I’m classy.
So anyway, I put together this fancy little round up to help give you a few Memorial Day ideas. If you’re anything like me you’re still attempting to figure out what to bring to all the BBQ’s you are attending this weekend. Hello main course! Memorial day is not set if I do not have a grilled hot dog. I know that sounds totally lame but I need my grilled dogs. It’s my mental kick off to summer. Normally I just smother them in yellow (not brown!) mustard but sometimes I get fancy and add on salsa, coleslaw and even homemade chili. Oh and if you’re really looking it impress you could always make a grilled pork tenderloin. So good!
P.S. Don’t forget the potato salad. It’s a BBQ must!

I, too, hope Mother Nature can get in gear! We had a tornado warning yesterday, buckets of rain and today, a chill. I mean, it’s sunny but still. No beach-hopping when there’s a chill! Either way, I love this round up! Everything is so summery, there’s no way I can still be annoyed about chilly weather!
OK – now that I’ve seen this collection, I think I’m going to be changing up my Memorial Day BBQ menu a bit… great recipes!!

It’s just a regular weekend up here in Canada, but I might still throw a couple of these on my menu anyways. 🙂 (Our long weekend was last week – we celebrate the queen’s birthday on third weekend of May, because we’re weird and because it’s a good excuse to take an extra day off work to sit outdoors and drink beer.)
