I haven’t seen this much discussion about a dress since Clinton was in office.It was a blue dress, if I recall. {Quote from my awesome friend Jenny}
That pretty much sums up how I spent last night. For hours I stared at a dress swearing that it white and gold and not blue and black. Then all of a sudden I saw blue and black. I know scientifically it has something to do with the way your eyes view contrast and something do with rods and cones but really I just find the whole thing weird. You think you know your colors and then BOOM – you a read a post on BuzzFeed that makes you second guess that your eyes are functioning correctly.
Just because I like to hear what everyone thinks what is your opinion on the dress color? I posted it last night to FB just to get an even wider opinion.

So what does all this dress talk have to do with kimchi fries? Nothing really. It’s just this whole dress thing is taking up all the room in my brain right now so I can’t think of anything else to write about.
It’s amazing how your brain can get consumed with one thought and push everything else you know out of your brain. It’s like when people ask me my favorite movie and I freeze as if I have never seen a movie in my life. For the record my favorite movie is Dirty Dancing. I can say this now that I’m just thinking about it and not asked on the spot.
You would think for a person with a communication degree I would actually know how to communicate.

Ok. Lets talk about these fries. I have had a serious love for kimchi since I first tasted the stuff years ago. If you have never had kimchi it’s basically the Asian cousin of sauerkraut. Tangy, fermented and just a touch spicy. I actually like my kimchi very spicy but it’s hard to find that type in the store. You could also make you own kimchi if you’re lucky enough to have a good recipe on hand. If I ever get around to it I plan on sharing my own homemade kimchi recipe sometime soon!
Now, to make the topping for these fries you simply marinade some beef and give it a quick stir-fry. Then saute up some kimchi and throw it all on top of crispy fries topped with melted cheese. Then I sprinkled the top with cilantro and green onions.
Oh and that delicious sauce you see on top? Gochujang + sour cream = heaven.

THIS IS THE WEIRDEST THING, last night I saw gold and white. my husband saw blue and black. I am sitting here visiting blogs this morning, and the Today Show had a girl wearing the dress, and I saw blue and black! crazy pants.
or. dress.
I want kimchi fries. you are genius.
I saw white and gold dress and then I saw blue and black. I’m confused! But I’ll try those fries with kimchee. Husband loves kimchee and it is suppose to be good for you!
that dress…I have seen it everywhere the last tow days, and it is always a different color – and kimchi on fries – that is pure genius. I’ve been wanting to try homemade kimchi for a while, now I think I need to get on that.
So my aunt sent me the dress picture last night and asked what colors I saw. White and gold are what I see. I had no idea what was going on and then next thing I know I’m on Facebook and it’s all over everything! Craziness! The kimchi fries are also crazy, but in a crazy good I want to eat a whole plate of them! Have a great weekend Brandy!
I ouldn’t care less about the dress – tell me more about these fries and make sure to teleport a plate full my WAY!! NOW! I mean, please.
I seriously want to dive into this dish! Very creative and I love all the ingredients and flavors! And btw, the dress was gold and white (I tried so hard to see it black & blue! Maybe that was the problem!).
Kimchi! Those fries look incredible. I LOVE korean food, and I haven’t found a really good korean restaurant close to where I live. Missing it!!
And now all I want for lunch is a plate of these fries!
Brandy, love these fries yo! where did you find/buy that jar of kimchi? I only ask because I’m curious about the brand and label. . kimchi is Korean, which I’m sure you know and so is gochujang. . I grew up eating the stuff and love that Korean food ingredients are becoming more popular. And I’d love to try your homemade kimchi recipe! My friend makes her own and sells it in SF and will be teaching a class at my house in the spring. Fish sauce, gochujang and now kimchi?! girl, you are speaking my language now.
Hi Alice! I found my kimchi at my local higher end grocery store. I LOVE kimchi so much you don’t even know. My favorite is pickle kimchi and I love it when it gets super sour. I can’t wait to share my own kimchi recipe as well. I have a giant bag of red pepper powder that is dying to be used…haha 🙂
Wow! Now that is a plate of some gorg fries! Now I’m craving them!
