This homemade peanut butter Oreo ice cream is made with homemade vanilla ice cream and packed full of peanut butter Oreos. If you love ice cream, Oreos and peanut butter this dessert is for you!

I have a really bad relationship with Oreos. I absolutely cannot keep them in the house or I will just eat them all. I’m not even kidding. In a few days that package will be gone. My husbands laughs at my lack of self control. I seriously think they must put something in those bad boys because there is no other cookie that does that to me.
Then a few weeks ago I saw they came out with a peanut butter Oreos.
Sweet baby J they are trying to kill me.

I held off on buying a package for awhile and then decided I needed to buy some for homemade ice cream. But really we all know I bought that first package and ate it in one day. So I had to go back to the store and buy more.
I told you. I cannot be trusted when there are Oreos in the house.

I should also mention OXO sent me some fun ice cream making goodies so it’s really their fault that I had to make this ice cream. Plus, as previously mentioned, I really needed a good reason to buy some peanut butter Oreos.
I have to share what OXO sent me because I love their products and have been using these goodies nonstop!
- OXO Good Grips Sugar Dispenser
- OXO Good Grips 2-Cup Angled Measuring Cup
- OXO Good Grips LockTop 50-5/7-Ounce Square Container with Green Lid
- OXO Good Grips 4-Piece Mini Measuring Beaker Set
- OXO Good Grips Silicone Spatula, Small, Raspberry
- OXO Good Grips Solid Stainless Steel Ice Cream Scoop
- OXO Good Grips Mini Chopper

This ice cream was so simple to make that I’m not sure why I don’t make homemade ice cream more often. If it wasn’t for the fact that my ice cream maker bowl takes up so much space in my freezer I would probably make (and eat) ice cream every single day.
Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise I don’t have a lot of room in my freezer to keep my bowl frozen 24/7.
Or I could just buy this totally awesome ice cream maker and then I would never have to worry about planning ahead.
Yes. I like that idea best.

Yield: 1-1/2 quarts Prep Time: 45 minutes + cooling time Cook Time: 30 minutes Total Time: 75 minutes + plus cooling time Vanilla ice cream recipe adapted from Alton Brown Set a medium saucepan over medium heat. Pour in half and half and heavy cream. Simmer the mixture, stirring every so often, until the mixture is warmed. Remove from heat and set aside. In a large mixing bowl add egg yolks and whisk until smooth. Slowly pour in sugar and whisk until combined. Add in a small amount of cream mixture to the egg mixture and whisk until combined. Slowly add in more cream until the egg mixture is warmed. Continue whisking in the cream until it's all been added. Add the mixture back into the saucepan and set over low heat. Stir constantly until the mixture has thickened and reached 175 degrees. Remove the mixture from the heat and pour into a storage container. Let cool on the counter for 30 minutes, stir in vanilla extract, cover and let cool in the refrigerator overnight. Pour into an ice cream maker and process according to the manufacturer's directions. Once the mixture reaches soft serve texture stir in Oreo cookies and add to a freezer safe container. Freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.

Shooting ice cream can be difficult, but you did a wonderful job. I am going to get my spoon 🙂
That just looks crazy good.
we have an unopened package of the Reese’s Oreos…….think I need to make this, STAT!!
Oh! This ice cream! <3
I still haven’t tried those Oroes! I ate 2 (!) packages of those stupid Chips Ahoy with frosting in the middle within 2 days so I’ve been avoiding cookies. Gah.
I need this ice cream! You know an ice cream is good when it calls for 8 yolks!
I have to laugh at your Oreo addiction! My husband has been obsessed with them as well forever – back when he was 20 and still living at home, his mom always kept a fresh package of Oreos in a gallon Ziploc bag in his room!! The dud had all access to Oreo’s all the time! She still gives him a box full as a funny Christmas present! Me…I hardly buy them for him because POOF they are gone! Meanwhile a couple of years ago on my Grandmom’s 100th birthday…Oreo was turning 100 too. So we had them as well as other 100 year old products throughout her party rooms- and that’s when she had HER first one! Your ice cream is GORGEOUS!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who can’t be trusted around Oreos! This ice cream looks fantastic!
I may need to make a mad dash to the store to get some peanut butter oreos! Your photos are so beautiful!
I haven’t seen these oreos! Love this dessert…
I was at my dad’s house one day and he had some of those peanut butter Oreos! I tried one just to see how I likes then and I ended up eating his whole pack before I left that day! I LOVE them and I know I would LOVE your ice cream as well! I have never made homemade ice cream but have really been wanting to try. I thought I had to have an ice cream machine but you were awesome and made yours without! Thank you so much for sharing!
