Spicy Peanut Butter Chicken Wings
These spicy peanut butter chicken wings are the perfect addition to your Super Bowl menu. Full of flavor and baked until crispy. Hello delicious!
Wings are totally my jam. I seriously cannot get enough of these little flavor packed gems. However, my one deep confession is that I have never fried my chicken wings. I always go with the grill or the oven. Why fry when you can get that super crispy skin without the smell of grease? Don’t get me wrong – I’ll fry. I’ll fry with the best of them. BUT if I don’t have to deal with the smell I’m all for that too.
There is no amount of Febreeze that gets fryer smell out of a house. Especially in the middle of winter when I can’t open the windows for fresh air. I mean I could open the windows I just don’t think it would be wise.
You know, winter.
These wings are of the baked variety {which makes them even better for you!} and then tossed in a simple peanut butter sauce that has been spiked with just a drop (or more like dollop) of sriracha. I added a little more than the recipe calls for but that is only because I’m on a “everything must burn my mouth OMG I love hot things” kick right now. It’s really up to you how much you want to add.
I won’t judge. Promise.
*When baking my wings I use a rimmed baking sheet with a cooling rack set inside pan. I use this Chicago Metallic set that comes with a perfectly fitting cooling rack.

Open chicken wings and bloat the skin with a paper towel. Place the chicken wings onto the cooling rack (that is sitting inside the baking sheet) in an even layer.
Bake for 45 minutes or until the wings are crispy and fully cooked. Flip the wings over half way through baking.
Right before the wings are done cooking start putting together your sauce.
In a large bowl whisk together peanut butter and hot water until smooth. Whisk in vinegar, sriracha, Truvia, ginger, garlic and lemongrass.

I am so intrigued with this ingredient list. I am thinking this would be a mans dream chicken wing recipe! Sharing now!
These remind me of satay that we make. What a fantastic marinade for chicken wings. These would be gone in seconds!
finger licking good!!! these sound incredible Brandy
Having gone to college in Buffalo, and then marrying this great guy (33 years and counting!) from there, I love me some wings! This sauce sounds intriguing — but I’m wicked (I live on the coast of Maine) allergic to stevia, so it’s real brown sugar for me! GO PATS!!!!!!!
Love the Southeast Asian flavors in these wings! Reminds me of the peanut butter chicken my mom used to make when I was growing up.
These are some gorgeous wings, Brandy – must try soon!
Well, you gotta know I love these, right? I’m dying over the peanut sauce (I can drink that stuff straight from a bowl…any kind)!
I never fry chicken wings either and you’re right, it is hard to get that “fried” smell out of my kitchen. Love this wing recipe – great combination of flavors!
I’m a sucker for buffalo wings, but these peanut butter gems look pretty addicting as well, and no frying, that’s a BIG plus
I am dying over these wings! Peanut sauce is one of my favorite things ever, so I’m guessing that these wings are as close to heavenly as you can get.
I totally love your wings, so I must try these!! I’m thinking I need them on Sunday!
I LOVE putting peanut butter in my sauces for chicken! These sound so good!
Chicken wings are like, the Madonna of the food world. Always reinventing itself. I have this lettuce wrap recipe where my favorite part is the peanut sriracha sauce. I NEED TO NOW PUT IT ON WINGS! 😀
Gonna give this a shot, but with some GF soy sauce instead of the water, and sweet chili-garlic paste instead of the sriracha. (Gotta keep the heat toned down for my wife and kiddies.)
You had me at peanut sauce. YUM. I loved that they’re baked yet full of flavor. Must try!
I love peanut sauces and chicken but never tried it with chicken wings, sounds great!
You make the coolest food.
I’ve never had peanut butter on chicken wings, but for as much as I love it, I need to! Pinned!
TOTALLY agree about frying wings! It’s just not worth it! Grilling is my go to but broiling them is just as good. And that peanut butter sauce? Perfection.
I love all things peanut sauce! Will try these out, thanks!
There is a peanut butter and jelly burger at our local sports bar that I always want to order but I’m always a little afraid. These wings make me think of that, only I am not at all afraid to try them! Just intrigued!
Tbese are so perfect for the Super Bowl! Thanks for the great recipe!
