This is one of those dishes where the photography really doesn’t do the dish justice. I’m sorry, for the life of me could not get a good picture of this dish. However, it’s simple and reminds me of growing up. When I would visit my mom in Florida (I lived in Ohio) I would always request that she make these packets as well as her homemade mac n’ cheese.

The packets are filled with a chicken cream cheese mixture and wrapped in a buttery Pillsbury crescent roll. This is one of those recipes where if you’re having a bad day just one bite will make you happy.

This is my version of happy food.

Chicken Crescent Packets

These chicken crescent packets are full of cream cheese flavor and are ready in just 30 minutes. These packets are easy to make and a total crowd pleaser.

Yield: 4 packets

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8 count) package Pillsbury crescent rolls
  • 12 ounces cooked shredded chicken
  • 3 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped celery
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or silpat.

Open crescent rolls and press two rolls together at the seems. Creating 4 large crescent rolls.

In a bowl of an electric mixer add chicken, cream cheese, butter, onion, celery, salt and pepper.

Mix together on low until you form a creamy mixture.

Add mixture to the middle of each large crescent roll and tuck the corners up over the mixture. Creating the little packet seen in the picture. If you get a little hole in your crescent roll simply pinch it back together.

Bake for about 15-20 minutes until the packets are browned and fully cooked on the outside.

Note: This recipe doubles fantastically!

Brown food is so hard to photograph! But since this recipe uses Pilsbury crescent dough, it has to be good! Yum!

How is it that all the happy foods out there always are so beige? Lol. I’m sure those insides are awesome though.

My mom used to make a recipe almost exactly like this. I can see how they would be hard to photograph, but I know they taste good!
