If you follow me on Instagram {which of course I hope you do!} you will have seen I was hanging out in NYC at the end of last month. I got to meet up with some of my favorite blogging buddies and talk all things food and Sabra. The night we arrived most of met up at a local training kitchen and cooked our hearts out. I actually left the food work to my friends and took over the bar. Does that surprise you? It really shouldn’t.

A little trip to NYC to visit the Sabra Greek Yogurt Factory

I handed out bourbon cocktails like candy and offered up my prep services where needed. Really though I just wanted to snap the ends off 5 pounds of asparagus because weirdly I find it fun.

The next day we met up with Sabra advertising bunch and learned a little more about their Greek yogurt dips. I have been a HUGE fan of them since last year and now try to push them on just about anyone who will listen. They are delicious and the world must know! Ok, I’ll dial back the dramatics.

But they are good.

I promise.

A little trip to NYC to visit the Sabra Greek Yogurt Factory

After our meet up with the Don Drapers we were whisked away to Long Island to hit up the Sabra Greek Yogurt factory. Once we arrived I was pretty much wowed at every turn. Wanna know why? Ok I’ll tell you.

    1. They use fresh vegetables. But like really really really fresh. They arrive in the morning from a local farmers market and are chopped and peeled in house. When I walked into the vegetable room there was a giant box of fresh peppers and a man cleaning them. Seriously, there are restaurants that are not this fresh!
    2. They make their own Greek yogurt. I’m not really sure where I thought they got their yogurt for the dips but it didn’t occur to me that they made their own.
    3. 20% of their dips are packed full of fresh chopped vegetables. FRESH that means no weird dried vegetables or artificial flavors. That also means crispy vegetable crunch in every bite.

After our tour around the factory {complete with lab coat and kickass hairnet} we were greeted with a giant table full of dips, chips and fresh cut veggies. Then we ate all those dips and chips like we had never seen food before.

When I got back home I decided that I needed some new dippers for my dip so I made myself some pita chips. While you can easily keep them lightly salted I opted to instead throw in a little cumin to the party. This added a big pop of flavor that paired perfectly with every single dip I had in my fridge.

The best part is that they are made in just 20 minutes! That means you can go from dipping sadness to dipping happening with just a few simple ingredients and a short amount of time.

I think we all know the awesomeness of that….am I right?

You bring the pita chips (in 21 more days when I can eat them again), I'll bring the eggplant chips and we'll watch 90s chick flicks and have a Sabra party. Deal?
