Are you needing the easiest blueberry compote recipe ever?

Well, you’re in luck because you’ll love this recipe! It’s only a few ingredients and 20 minutes of cooking time between you and a fresh batch of blueberry compote.

I recently served this over grilled pound cake, but it would also be an awesome addition to ice cream sundaes, yogurt parfaits, or warm breakfast oatmeal. For extra blueberry flavor, it would also be great spooned over Baked Blueberry Oatmeal.

Since this is not a canning recipe, you must store it in the fridge and use it within five days. However, you can also freeze it for up to three months.

My Pro Tips

Recipe Tips

  • I like fresh blueberries best for this dish, but you can use frozen ones if desired. Because of the excess moisture, you may have to cook the compote for a little longer.
  • One lemon juiced and zested should be all you need for this recipe.
  • Instead of brown sugar, you can use equal parts granulated sugar or maple syrup.
  • Serve over grilled pound cake for a fast and easy dessert.
