This sweet chocolate Guinness sauce is perfect for creamy vanilla or chocolate ice cream. In just 15 minutes, you could be enjoying this delicious sauce!

I wanted to do something a little different with my Guinness, so I decided to try making a chocolate sauce.
It turned out delicious and on top of vanilla ice cream, it was heaven! I used bittersweet chocolate and sweetened it with golden syrup and brown sugar.
The Guinness flavor was mild but mixed with the chocolate it paired nicely.
I have a feeling if I used Guinness extra stout, it would have picked up more of the beer flavor.
Either way, I’m satisfied with my first-ever ice cream topping and can’t wait to make more…Enjoy!!!

Chocolate Guinness Sauce

Ingredients
- 2/3 cup Guinness beer
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 5 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
- 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a 8-inch saucepan and place over medium heat.
- Gently whisk together mixture as it melts over the heat.
- Cook until the sauce starts to thicken, making sure to whisk while it cooks.
- Serve over ice cream, warm or room temperature.
- Store in the fridge in an airtight jar for up to 1 week.

That sounds absolutely fabulous!
I’m feeling a wee bit Irish…
Brilliant! I just saw a recipe for chocolate guiness cupcakes–I guess I need to try the combo in some form. Never would have thought to pair the two.
Oooo… very appropriate for St. Patty’s Day :). Guinness and chocolate are made for each other. Great idea!
Sweet!! I had just gotten some Guinness over the weekend. 🙂 I’m bookmarking this. So perfect drizzles over a couple scoops of ice cream.
You’re very creative!
Guinness and chocolate is a good match. I guess I need some ice cream.

What a delicious idea! I bet it’s scrumptious over ice cream…or just as is!
Guinness and chocoalte are a delicious combo…this sauce looks incredible! And chocolate sauce is in danger around me. 😉
Beer and chocolate – that is new to me but it actually sounds good and you have it looking good.
