This fresh grapefruit margarita is packed full of grapefruit and lime flavor. Serve it on the rocks or frozen – either way is totally delicious!

This post is sponsored by Truvia. As always all opinions are 100% my own.
After I took these photos I thought to myself “Ughhhhhhhhh you made a grapefruit margarita and didn’t salt the damn rim!” Rookie mistake.
Even though I’m not really a rookie in the cocktail department it was still n00b move.
Although to be honest I didn’t even miss the salted rim.
I also garnished with a little mint because I loved the way the pink color of the drink popped with that green mint. It’s so pretty, right?!
Plus I just lightly sweetened this baby with a Truvia spoonable sweetener.
I like to add just a little so I get the perfect balance of sweet and tart but feel free to make this baby as sweet as you like.
I also love that this is a simple drink made with simple ingredients.
Typically when I put together a recipe it’s a laundry list of ingredients. Nope. Not with this recipe. Less ingredients BUT big time flavor.
Pretty much my theme for this year – LESS! Less clutter, less mess and less stress!
I know everyone wants to make those changes but it’s going to happen in my life ASAP.
It’s time to get all the thing in my life that stressing me out, out of my life! Who’s with me?
Also these cocktails were needed BADLY this week. If you’re not a pet lover you’re probably gonna read my next paragraph and be like “OMG you’re insane” but really I’m not crazy (ok maybe a tiny bit crazy) I just love my cats.
I ended up having to put my little nugget Bennie Boo Boo in the animal ICU this week. She ended up getting really sick and almost ended up dying.

By the time I got her to the animal hospital her temperature had dropped to 92 and her blood pressure was in the 40’s. If you’re wondering what “normal” is for a cats it’s a temperature of 100-102 and blood pressure in the 120’s.
Basically she was in bad shape and when they took her away from me to put her on heat support I just about lost my ish and cried like a baby in the examine room while they tried to ask me if I wanted them to perform CPR on her if her little heart gave out.
These are not questions I was prepared to answer. I mean of course I did but in that moment I literally thought to myself “where are my parents? I’m not old enough to make decisions like this…”
The good news is that after almost 3 days in the hospital she is finally home.
She is still sick and I have to keep a very watchful eye on her BUT she is definitely doing better.
But after I saw the bill (she is totally worth but still it’s so. much. money.) I needed one of these margs in my life.
Really I needed like 40 of these in my life but I settled for just 2.
{My wonderful friend Jenni of Pastry Chef Online set up a GoFundMe for Bennie and I can’t thank her enough! Jenni actually fostered Bennie for the first very rough 10 months of her life.}

Love your Post, so well written and what a terrific idea to weeten up the Margarita with Truvia. It seems this would offer the perfect balance to the tartness of the grapefruit. So sorry on your worries with Bennie Boo Boo, including the financial woes ensued. Good thing you had prepared a lovely drink at hand (and given the circumstances were able to stop at 2!) Best wishes on the de-clutter. This is a habit I’ve inherited from my 89 year old aunt- if you are not using it give it to someone who can. I weekly peek through drawers and cabinets making it effortless to simply remove un-needed items. Have a good weekend, and best wishes.
I’m so sorry about your kitty, seriously they’re like having children. I remember when my cat got sick and the insane amount his vet/hospital bills ended up costing me. Luckily that was almost 5 years ago and he is doing great! I hope your little Bennie heals up quickly. Have one of these simple but gorgeous grapefruit margaritas tonight and think about the bill tomorrow!
So glad your kitty is on the mend! Cocktails are definitely in order to help you cope, probably double fisting would be a good idea!
This is gorgeous! I love the vibrant color and pink grapefruit is my favorite. So happy to hear your cat is feeling better 🙂
I love the color with the mint green against it!!! Hope Bennie Boo Boo feels better soon!
Holy crap! I knew Bennie wasn’t doing well, but the CPR question?! I would’ve bawled my eyes out. I’m so glad that your little spitfire is back at home. Maybe she’ll even let you snuggle her a bit. Definitely worth at least 2 of these margaritas.
Now THIS is the kind of grapefruit I can enjoy 😀 Love it!
Oh my gosh these look deliiiiicious! Pinning for later (when I’m not pregnant!).
Your cat is adorable! And this margarita sounds so refreshing, I love it!
I’m so glad that Bennie is home! Still sending thoughts and prayers your way. I found our cat in sort of the same way. In a parking lot with her ear halfway torn off. She was less than a pound! At 6 months she started having seizures but they’re pretty controlled now with medication and a change of diet. I know how hard it is to see them in pain, she’s literally my child! You’re totally not crazy 😉 And yes, you totally deserve 2 or 3 of these gorgeous margs!
