These tasty grilled peaches are perfectly paired with a sweet brown sugar sour cream sauce. Perfect for dipping and perfect for summer.
There is something about summer and grilling that go hand in hand. I often cook while I’m at work (If you follow me on Instagram you see my work dinners almost everyday) and it’s almost always on the grill. Sadly, at home we do not have a grill. Le sigh.
Luckily I have a grill pan so I decided that it was high time I took advantage of this and grill up something delicious! My kitchen has been overflowing with fruit and vegetables and earlier this summer peaches were taking over my kitchen! I decided to grill them up, cover them in a sweet delicious sauce and have a glass of wine. The perfect summer dessert!
Earlier in the summer I was contacted by the fine folks at 14 Hands Winery and they offered to let me try some of their delicious wine. They asked if I could pair it with something grilled and I was totally up for the challenge! I read about each of their wines and while they all sounded (and are!) delicious I had to go with the white blend to pair with the peaches. The description totally sold me!
“intense aromas of peach compote with tropical and floral nuances. On the palate, flavors of fresh apple, pear and melon are balanced by juicy acidity and ends with a bright, vibrant finish.”
It was by far the best choice! The sweetness of the grilled peaches paired perfectly with the Hot to Trot White Blend!
Also, because the peaches were not naturally sweet enough, I decided to make a quick sour cream brown sugar sauce. This sauce is an adaptation from a dip I had years ago on strawberries. Except when I had it then I just dipped the berries in sour cream and rolled it in brown sugar. This time I combined it all to create the mother of all fruit dips/sauces.

Cut peaches in half and remove pit. Add to hot grill (or grill pan) and let sit for about 5 minutes. The peaches will get delicious looking grill marks and become a little soft and warm.

In a small bowl add all ingredients and whisk together to create the most delicious sauce known to man.

Oh these grilled peaches look fabulous and I live the sauce. Never thought to pair grilled peaches with wine!
This sounds lovely! Great picture of the 14!
It’s amazing how just grilling fruit changes and intensifies its luscious flavor… and I love sour cream brown sugar sauce on all kinds of foods!
This looks delicious! Love the images.
I don’t have a grill yet either but did set up an electric Cuisinart grill/griddle and only tried it once. I certainly am looking forward to more grilling. The peaches sound great, i like your sauce!
THe peaches we’ve been getting lately have really not been super sweet lately either but that brown sugar sauce and the wine seem like the perfect additions!
I am on a big peaches kick – making lots of jams and chutneys. This looks so good!
Shut uppppp. I want to eat this. I love the grill marks! So sexy.
Hahaha exactly! Grilled fruit is straight up sexy 🙂
This is just my favorite kind of dessert for summer, simple and fresh.
