This leftover Thanksgiving sandwich with moist maker is the perfect way to pay homage to your favorite Friends episode. It tastes like a Thanksgiving dinner with a secret gravy-soaked moist maker middle!

Knock-knock. Who’s there? Ross Geller’s lunch. Ross Geller’s lunch, who? Ross Geller’s lunch, please don’t take me. Okay?
It’s never cool to steal another lunch. Unless it’s Ross Geller, then it ends up being pretty funny.
This sandwich pays homage to the classic sandwich from the TV show Friends. It’s the perfect combination of Thanksgiving leftovers served on a sandwich with a secret little ingredient – a gravy-soaked slice of bread called “the moist maker.”
Now, while the name “moist maker” doesn’t super appeal to me (ugh, the word moist), it does its job. It keeps the sandwich rich and hearty and helps it from drying out.
It’s pretty much everything you would want in a leftover Thanksgiving sandwich.
This sandwich includes sliced turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, baby spinach (or your preferred green), tomatoes, and of course, the moist maker.
It’s fall holiday sandwich perfection!

Ingredients needed
- Whole wheat bread
- Turkey gravy
- Stuffing
- Baby spinach
- Sliced tomatoes
- Leftover turkey
- Cranberry sauce
How to make a leftover Thanksgiving sandwich
The best part about Thanksgiving is all the leftovers! This simple sandwich pays homage to Friends, but it’s more than that—it’s a vehicle to use up all those delicious leftovers!
- Start by warming your stuffing and turkey and set aside.
- Warm your gravy in a small skillet or microwave. Add one slice of bread to soak up the leftover gravy, and flip it over.
- While your moist maker sits in the gravy, start assembling your sandwich!
- Lay out a slice of your plain bread and top with stuffing, spinach, tomatoes, gravy-soaked bread, turkey, cranberry sauce, spinach, and your remaining slice of bread.
- Serve like that or with extra gravy if you like a gravy-heavy sandwich.

My Pro Tips
Ross Geller’s Thanksgiving Leftover Sandwich Recipe Tips
I like vegetarian stuffing for this sandwich, but use what you have. An excellent option for your stuffing is my Sage and Cornbread Stuffing.
Homemade Cranberry Orange Sauce with Ginger is my favorite, but store-bought whole berry cranberry can also be great.
I’m using baby spinach, but any green is a good choice—mixed greens, arugula, or even Romaine.
Nutty whole wheat or oatmeal bread is a favorite for this sandwich, but I also love pumpkin yeast bread.
