This no bake chocolate orange Greek yogurt cheesecake is just what your holiday needs. A rich chocolate crust filled with an orange filling and topped with candied orange slices.

Sometimes in life you have to deal with things not always turning out the way you envision them. When I made this cheesecake I had a plan all laid out in my head. The beautiful oranges would glisten, I would cut a slice and showcase a little drizzle of sugary orange glaze going down the side. Instead when I set up this scene I hated it. I felt it wasn’t turning out right and I couldn’t capture the mood I wanted. Sometimes I joke that being an artist means you hate everything you do. Now while I don’t really go around calling myself an artist I guess technically taking pictures and setting up food scenes are slightly artistic.

So when I set up this cheesecake and noticed a slight crack at the top I was immediately annoyed. Since it’s no-baked it didn’t crack because of over baking it cracked because I was moving it around trying to position it just right. That means if you make this cheesecake I doubt you will have to worry about cracking. Unless you also enjoy taking pictures of your food and trying to set the scene just so. Which I guess is a real possibility since almost no one eats without taking a picture of it first. Am I right?
I posted about my annoying crack issue on my Facebook page and my friend Stephanie totally cheered me up by fixing the problem. It was then I realized I should probably cut myself a little a slack. It’s a crack. It doesn’t take away from the flavor and the cheesecake still looks pretty darn pretty.
Plus PAC-MAN! Isn’t he adorable?

I have made a lot of different no-bake cheesecakes before this one is showcasing the wonders of adding in Greek yogurt. Not just any Greek yogurt either – The Greek Gods® Greek Style Yogurt. I’ve eaten a lot of yogurt in my life but this by far is one of my favorite brands. The yogurt is thick, creamy and has just the right amount of tang. Plus it comes in tons of different and totally delicious flavors. I used honey vanilla (so delicious!) for this cheesecake but I have my eye on their honey salted caramel flavor. As soon as I can find that in the store I’m going to buy it all.
You think I’m kidding. I’m not.

Now, this cheesecake is 100% no-bake so if making traditional cheesecake scares you you’re good. All you have to do is mix all the ingredients together, pour it into the crust and wait for it to set. Then you can devour it all. Or share a few slices.
I’m guessing since Thanksgiving is coming up you should probably share a few a slices. It’s the nice thing to do.

Now to top this cheesecake you can do a few different things. I went with candied orange slices and some chocolate shavings BUT if you’re not into fancy toppings it ok. You can serve it plain, you can serve it with just a sprinkling of cocoa powder OR you could even serve with a few scoops of cranberry sauce on top.
However, if you are into fancy decorations you should totally go the candied orange route. They are super pretty and taste pretty darn delicious too.

In a small pan add water and set over high heat. Set the bowl of gelatin (which will be set up) over the steaming water and stir to dissolve. You want the gelatin to be come liquid again.
Turn the blender or food processor on low and add in the gelatin while it's running. Continue blending for 20 seconds just so the gelatin is thoroughly incorporated.

Cover lightly and let sit in the fridge overnight.
When you're ready to serve top with candied oranges and bittersweet chocolate.
For candied oranges:
Set a large skillet over medium heat and add water and sugar. Let cook just until the sugar dissolves and add in the orange slices. Turn down until it reaches a gentle simmer and cook for about an hour or until the oranges start to soften and the rinds become slightly translucent.

You make the most beautiful desserts and this one is too! The yogurt must really balance the flavors perfectly.
This is a gorgeous cake, Brandy. I love the beautiful slices of oranges on top. Crack or no crack, I’m sure it tastes delicious!
Chocolate + orange = ALWAYS A KILLER COMBINATION!
Fantastic photos for a fantastic recipe!
Oh darn cracks! I know how that feels. It’s so annoying when your creations do not turn out *exactly* how you have pictured them in your head! On the bright side, this is a fabulous looking cake and I love, love, LOVE that it is no-bake!!
I love that you made this no-bake. It looks incredible!!
Oh my gosh, this is absolutely beautiful. It may not be exactly what you envisioned but it’s perfection from my perspective. I’d gobble this up in a heart beat. I am like you though, I picture things one way in my head then get wildly disappointed if the reality doesn’t match my vision. Thank goodness for garnishes.
ps love that you made this with yogurt. I find myself using yogurt a lot in baking. Not a sour cream fan so I sub in yogurt for it often.
It’s ok that this isn’t what you saw in your mind’s eye (that happens to me all the time) but this is stunning.
I feel reducing the amount of citrus added will help; since, Greek yogurt is already tangy. Came out really well! My family liked the cheesecake a lot! Will be making this again! Thanks a lot for sharing this wonderful recipe. 🙂
Oh you said it perfectly. There are good days and there are days I would rather just chuck the food out the window than to finish photographing it. But I like your idea…just cut yourself a big ol slice. You deserve it!
Cook Time: 0. I love it. I will have to try out this new yogurt. I’m not a yogurt fan, but I’m willing to try anything once.
