Ok ladies and gentleman. It’s now day eight of The Twelve Boozy Days of Christmas.  To the table today I brought Pomegranate & Lime White Wine Spritzer.

You will not be disappointed with this drink.  It’s fizzy (always a plus!), full of antioxidants (hello pomegranate!), and of course, includes a little booze. White wine to be exact.  Ok. So it’s not the super hard stuff but who cares. You can still put back a few of these and pay for it in the morning. TRUST ME!Pomegranate Lime White Wine Spritzer by Nutmeg Nanny

The other thing I really like about this drink is that it’s pretty. That’s a good reason to want to drink it….

Agree?

  1. I’m adding a splash of pomegranate to this drink and serving at as the signature drink at my wedding and calling it “Blushing Bride”
    🙂

  2. This looks fantastic and I can’t wait to try it this holiday season! Our guests will be impressed 🙂 It is so pretty looking!

Pomegranate isn’t something I usually eat, so is there a trick to getting the pomegranate seeds out? Sorry, probably a dumb question 🙂 Just never used one before for anything!
Also, did you use any specific type of white wine? I’m partial to Reisling, but wondering if one tastes better with the drink?

    Thanks again for posting!

    1. Hi LaVon! Thank you for all your kind comments 🙂 The easiest way to get pomegranate seeds out of the fruit is by cutting into quarters, fill a bowl with water and put one quarter at a time under the water. Gently run your fingers into the fruit seeds and the seeds should start falling out and sinking to the bottom of the bowl. After you are done just skim the top of the water (there will be little white things floating, don’t worry, it’s from the part of the fruit that was holding in the seeds) and drain your seeds. It sounds a little complicated but I assure you it’s super easy and can be done in under 15 minutes 🙂 For the wine I like a nice unoaked Chardonnay or a Pinot Grigio. The seeds can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week in the fridge.

    1. I like an unoaked Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio. However, I think Riesling would work if you really enjoyed sweet wine.

  3. actually the Best way to get Pomegranate seeds out is to cut in half , turn upside down in your hand, spread your fingers and hit the back of Pomegranate hard with wooden spoon or something solid !!

  4. cut the pomegranate in quarters and put in a bowl of water and use your fingers to scrap the seeds out under the water. then drain the water out with a strainer. made these yesterday on christmas and everyone loved it! used pinot grigio

  5. This sounds so good! I will be sharing this recipe on my Facebook page, SkinnyTinis! Please check it out! 🙂
