Ingredients to make air fryer turkey breast?

This air fryer turkey breast recipe is easy to throw together and includes simple, easy-to-find ingredients.

  • Boneless turkey breast – I like to use boneless turkey breast instead of bone-in. It cooks up more quickly and evenly than bone-in.
  • Unsalted butter and olive oil – The combination of butter and oil helps crisp the skin, keep the meat moist, and add great flavor.
  • Garlic – Who doesn’t love garlic?
  • Rosemary – I love rosemary for turkey, but you could also use thyme, sage, or a combination of all three.
  • Kosher salt – Salt is always needed while cooking. It brings out flavor and seasons the bird perfectly!
  • Black pepper – Just a touch!

How do you make a turkey breast in the air fryer?

This air fryer turkey breast is a breeze and a great alternative to making a big turkey, especially if you’re a white meat lover!

  1. Lightly oil the air fryer basket. This will help prevent the turkey from sticking to the inside basket. Remember, turkey breasts are VERY lean!
  2. Pat the turkey breast with a paper towel to dry the skin. This helps ensure the turkey cooks with an extra crispy skin, which is the absolute best part, in my opinion.
  3. Mix your butter, garlic, herbs, and olive oil in a small bowl.
  4. Season the bird by gently loosening the skin and spreading 3/4 of the butter mixture under the skin. Then, spread the rest of the butter mixture over the top of the bird. This will help give it optimal flavor!
  5. Add your turkey breast to your air fryer and cook for 30-35 minutes. My boneless turkey breast for this recipe was 4 pounds, so if your bird is bigger or smaller, you may need to adjust the timing. You’ll want to cook until the bird is 160 degrees F.
  6. Let your bird rest after it is fully cooked! I like to let it rest for 10 minutes to help the bird stay moist and distribute the juices. Resting also gives the bird time to reach the recommended cooking temperature of 165 degrees F.

    Air Fryer FAQ

An air fryer is a tabletop convection oven.
It mimics the outcome of a deep-fat fryer but without oil. Hot hair is moved around via a fan that quickly and crisply cooks the food. The two most common air fryers you’ll see are basket-style (that is what I have) or convection/toaster oven-style. There are pluses to both, but I prefer my basket style.

I prefer the basket-style air fryer as it’s smaller and takes up less room than the toaster oven-style air fryer. My biggest tip regarding air fryers is to pick a style that will work best for your family and how much food you cook. My large basket-style air fryer can cook up to 12 wings, 2-4 servings of french fries, etc., which works well for my household.

The answer to this will depend on your brand. It is ALWAYS best to double-check all brand recommendations by reading your user manual or visiting their website and seeing if they address this question on their site. My air fryer brand is basket style, and the outer and inner baskets are dishwasher safe.

    FAQ’s

I plan 1 to 1.5 pounds of turkey per person for an average adult.

Of course, you can change the numbers depending on how many adults and children visit or whether your family is big meat-eaters.

Turkey should always be cooked to 165 degrees F.

I like to pull my boneless turkey breast out of the air fryer at 160 degrees F and let it rest for about 10 minutes to reach 165 degrees F.

I like to use my instant-read thermometer to test for doneness.

All leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.

    Ingredients

    • 4 pound boneless skin-on turkey breast
    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 teaspoons minced fresh rosemary
    • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
    • ½ teaspoon black pepper

    Instructions

    • Spray your air fryer basket with a thin layer of olive oil.
    • Pat turkey breast dry with a paper towel.
    • In a small bowl combine butter, 1 tablespoon olive oil, rosemary, kosher salt, and black pepper.
    • Gently lift the skin of the turkey breast and rub 3/4 of the butter mixture under the skin of the turkey breast. Trying to make sure to evenly disperse under the skin so all the turkey breast gets seasoned.
    • Rub the remaining 1/4 of the butter mixture over the whole turkey breast.
    • Brush the top of the turkey breast with the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil.
    • Place the turkey breast in the air fryer basket, skin side up, and cook at 375 degrees F. for 30-35 minutes or until the inside of the turkey breast reaches 160 degrees F.
    • Remove the turkey breast from the air fryer, cover in foil, and let rest until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.
    • Slice turkey and enjoy!
