This cinnamon pie is perfect for your holiday table! It is full of cinnamon flavor, wrapped in a creamy filling packed into a buttery crust. Inspired by the TV show Psych.

I first made this recipe in 2012, and back then, I swear I was the only cinnamon pie maker on the internet. However, that is simply not the case anymore, and it was high time I remade this recipe, took better pictures, and showed it to my newer readers.
Wow, I was so happy I decided to revamp this recipe because it might be my new go-to holiday pie! Now, while I will never turn down a Streusel Topped Apple Butter Pumpkin Pie or a Pumpkin Cheesecake Pie sometimes I just want the cinnamon.
This pie is, OF COURSE, inspired by the most wonderful show – Psych. It’s still a complete comfort show TO THIS DAY! C’om son! In this episode, they attend a quirky little town called Dual Spires and attend the cinnamon festival. There they eat a slice of cinnamon pie.
I knew I had to make a cinnamon pie IMMEDIATELY and I’m so glad I did.
The filling is creamy and dreamy and packed with cream cheese, brown sugar, vanilla, maple, and of course cinnamon! Textrually it is similar to pumpkin pie but no pumpkin to be found. Just delicious sweet and flavorful cinnamon.
This is literally the fall holiday pie of your dreams.

Ingredients needed
- Pie crust – make it 100% homemade by making my Homemade Buttery Pie Crust or buy a frozen crust.
- Cream cheese
- Brown sugar
- Eggs
- Heavy cream
- Vanilla extract – vanilla bean paste would also work well here.
- Maple extract – don’t replace with this maple syrup. You want to use maple extract because it gives you a strong maple flavor without the added sweetness.
- Cinnamon
- Kosher salt
- Ground ginger
- Ground allspice

My Pro Tips
Cinnamon Pie Recipe Tips
You do not need to par bake your pie crust so you can easily use a frozen deep dish pie crust straight from the freezer.
For a slightly lower fat pie you can substitute the cream cheese with Neufchâtel cheese.
Make sure your cream cheese is room temperature so it blends smoothly.
If you want to add in more warm winter flavors you could substitute the cinnamon with pumpkin pie spice or apple pie spice.
If you slightly overcook your pie the top may slightly crack in the middle. It’s ok! Just make sure to cover it with whipped cream.
Use homemade whipped cream or Cool Whip. I personally think Cool Whip works best.

Cinnamon Pie

Ingredients
- 1 (9-inch) deep dish pie crust , store-bought or homemade
- 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon maple extract
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¼ teaspoon ground allspice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Refrigerate your prepared pie crust until ready to fill and bake.
- In the bowl of an electric mixer, add cream cheese and brown sugar. With your paddle attachment, mix for 5 minutes until smooth and combined.
- Add in eggs, one at a time, combining fully before adding your next egg. Lastly, mix in your vanilla and maple extract.
- Turn off the mixer and add heavy cream, all-purpose flour, cinnamon, kosher salt, ginger, and allspice. Gently mix on low speed until smooth.
- Remove your pie crust from the fridge and place it on a large baking sheet pan. This makes it easier to add and remove your pie from the oven.
- Pour the filling into your pie shell, add to the oven, and bake for 40 minutes or until the middle of the pie gently jiggles but is not runny. This is similar to making a pumpkin pie.
- Let the pie fully cool, cover, and thoroughly chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.
- Before serving, top with whipped cream.
- Leftovers should be stored in the fridge, covered, for up to 3 days.

Oooh, I remember wedding planning like it was yesterday. Good luck – it will all be over before you know it! And this pie? I need a slice. Right now!
Sorry to hear your wedding plans have been stressful – I guess it’s par for the course, but yeah, busy season in New York? Who says that?!
YAY Twin Peaks 😀 This pie sounds just incredible and I love that it has a cheesecake style crust, at least you don’t have to stress about making pastry on top of everything else 🙂
When is your wedding? Sorry the planning has been getting to you, I swear weddings are more stressful than enjoyable for the couple! lol! The pie to ever, looks wonderful and a perfect end to sweeten a stressful day.
So irritating! It always drove me nuts that once a vendor heard the word wedding, it would cost double… I heart that crust!! And cinnamon rocks-what a great treat
I am a caterer and just for your information it
Does cost more for a wedding because it is very labor
Intense. Perfection takes time. I’m making the pie
Right now by your recipe to try it for an upcoming
Event. Thanks!! Good luck w your plans!
That’s so annoying. They sound stuck up. I hope they get barely any business and they look back and think, “I could’ve had her wedding party & guests” haha 😉 the treat you made looks delicious! I could have a couple of those in one sitting..
Cinnamon is definitely one of my favorite flavors, it warms my soul and makes my mouth happy 🙂
And buttermilk pie, well that’s just classic food porn! So put the two together, and you’ve got perfection!! Brandy you are always so smart!!! 🙂
And the hotel thing = super annoying!!!!! UGH!!!! Glad you got it settled though 🙂
Ugh, talking on the phone to any corporate representative never fails to give me a headache. Kudos to you for finding a helpful Holiday Inn alternative.
Also these look deeeelish. I had buttermilk pie for the first time (?!) this past fall, and I think the addition of cinnamon flavor would be pretty bangin’…I’m also a total sucker for graham cracker crust. Sometimes I’m fairly sure I’d just eat the crust straight up. Not that I’ve ever done that before. Or anything.
I love Psych! This looks so delicious! Pinning!
Yep, so Pinning this to add to my repertoire.
I love Psych too, we never miss it. Your pie is gorgeous and I must try it!
