My favorite part of the holiday season is hands down, all the parties. That’s right – I’m a party girl.

But not like party 1970’s Studio 54 type of partying. I’m more into eating delicious food, having cocktails, and being home by 11 pm. I know, I’m not even 38, and I’m already excited about being home by 11 pm.

I’m not sure how the youth of today stay out all night.

I want to be wrapped up in a blanket cocoon and fast asleep by the time Santa sneaks down the chimney and delivers my presents. Ok, I don’t believe in Santa anymore, but I still believe in the Christmas joy of blanket cocoons.

Oh, and this cranberry lemonade ginger beer cocktail?

It’s the perfect holiday boozy treat. It’s just a little tart, sweet, and a lot of delicious.

I’m giving you the recipe for just one cocktail, but you should know that this recipe makes a killer holiday punch.

Simplify your holiday planning!

Do you know what else goes great with cocktails? These Hillshire Farm® Snacking Social Platters! When I first heard of these platters I immediately knew I had to get my hands on them. How easy would it be to just flip and serve and call it a day? It can take a good hour to put together a cheese and meat board and during the holidays no one has time for that nonsense.

PLUS each snacking tray is an all-in-one offering with 5 chef-curated ingredients that can be found in your grocery store deli section.

I loved both of the platters BUT since the Genoa Salami and Prosciutto platter included dark chocolate so that wins for me. Is there anything better than chocolate? And Italian meat? And cheese?

Drooling.

The first time I threw a holiday party, I was a WRECK. I wanted the party to be perfect but had too many ideas floating around in my head and not enough time (or arms) to carry it all out. Plus, I’m horrible at asking for help, so it’s a deadly combination.

Especially for party planning.

I’ve learned over the years to chill a bit in the idea department so parties are fun instead of one giant headache. So yeah, I’m trying to tell y’all I’m legit using these snacking platters at my next party.

Cranberry lemonade ginger beer cocktail goodness!

Now, back to this cocktail. You’ll want to make sure to buy cranberry juice cocktail and not straight-up natural cranberry juice. While I’m typically a fan of the natural stuff it’s just way too tart to be useful in this cocktail. I get that it has a lot of health benefits, but cocktails are no place for health benefits.

Or maybe it is. I don’t know. I’m not gonna tell you what to do. BUT if you use straight up cranberry juice and don’t like please don’t @ me.

Are the cool kids still saying “don’t @ me?”

Are we still calling cool kids cool kids?

As far as lemonade goes you can easily make your own or just pick it up at the store. Again, don’t make your life more complicated during the holiday season.

How to make this holiday cocktail

  • Add your cranberry juice cocktail, lemonade, and vodka to a cocktail shaker filled with ice
  • Give it a shake until it’s ice-cold
  • Pour into an ice-filled glass and top with ginger beer
  • Enjoy!
