Do you love flavored vodka without all the hassle of running to the liquor store and buying all the flavored vodka?

Well, I’m here to show you how to make your very own flavored vodka – holiday style!

For this version, we’re using plain vodka and candy canes. That’s all you need to make your very own candy cane vodka!

The best part is that this delicious concoction is ready in just 24 hours!

That means you can go from zero candy cane vodka today, to a whole quart of it tomorrow!

You can use it for all sorts of stuff but one of my favorite ways is pouring it into Vitamix Hot Chocolate!

Craving even more candy cane flavored boozy drinks in your life? Try this candy cane martini! Or maybe you want something a little sweeter? Try this homemade caramel vodka.

But if you’re lucky and don’t have a crazy family you can enjoy this vodka just because you love the amazingness of vodka. Holla!

Now, normally when I make flavored vodka I infuse it with fruit. Like my Homemade Blueberry Vodka or my Homemade Strawberry Vodka & Lemonade.

However, for Christmas, I went full-on candy cane.

This vodka is PERFECTION and tastes great plain OR when added to coffee, hot chocolate, or even eggnog.

The first step involves getting out a clean 16-ounce mason jar, adding in some mini candy canes (Ok, you can regular-size candy canes too BUT the minis are so cute!), and then showering those candy canes in vodka.

What type of vodka?

To be honest I stick with the cheaper stuff when making my own flavored vodka. That doesn’t mean I buy the stuff that comes in plastic bottles (and hangs out at the bottom of the shelf) BUT I’m not going for the stuff I have to grab from the top either.

Stick to the middle.

Then the vodka and the candy canes sit overnight and BOOM homemade candy cane vodka!

PLUS this vodka is pretty gorgeous in color so that alone is a reason, right?

I personally like adding a little nip to my hot chocolate but Art thinks it’s the best thing EVER in eggnog.

Ingredients

  • 20 mini candy canes
  • Vodka

Instructions

  • Take a clean 16-ounce mason jar and add in mini candy canes.
  • Pour in vodka to the top, leaving a bit of room so you can shake your mixture.
  • The jar with candy canes should hold about 2 cups of vodka.
  • Add a lid to the mason jar, shake, and let sit overnight.
  • The next morning give the jar a shake and see if any candy canes remain. After 24 hours, the candy should have dissolved in the vodka, leaving you with a sweet peppermint vodka.
