This mixed berry mojito combines delicious fresh raspberries, blackberries, mint and rum. It’s super delicious, perfect for spring and takes only 5 minutes to make!

Are you looking forward to berry season?
I know I cannot get enough fresh berries when they show up at the market.
Especially if we are talking raspberries and blackberries, they are the perfect balance of sweet and tart.
I went ahead and took my favorite berries and turned them into the perfect summertime cocktail – a mixed berry mojito!
This recipe is a play on the traditional mojito. It also contains fresh mint, lime, and rum.
It’s sweet, filled with berry and mint flavor, and the perfect little boozy treat for a hot summer day.

What is a mojito?
A mojito is a classic drink from Cuba. It’s light, refreshing, and just slightly sweet.
Traditionally speaking a mojito is simply white rum, fresh limes, fresh mint, sugar, and club soda.
To release all the flavor of the mint it’s important to not skip the step of muddling your mint in the glass. I like to use a wooden muddler to help gently bruise the mint to release its flavor.
Do I have to use white rum in my mojito?
Yes and no.
Do you want it to have a more traditional flavor? Then, yes, you’ll want to use white rum.
Not a fan of white rum? I have used vodka in its place and while the outcome is delicious it does change the flavor profile.
I also used coconut rum in my coconut mojito.
Which is obviously delicious but you gotta love that coconut flavor.
Do I have to use fresh mint for this mixed berry mojito?
Fresh mint is a very important part of making a mojito.
It adds bright fresh flavor that can’t be mimicked by using dried mint.
Typically you can fresh mint year round in the produce section of your grocery store.
What other berries could I use?
If you’re not a fan of raspberries and blackberries you could use blueberries, strawberries, black raspberries, or golden raspberries in their place.
