Three Wise Men Shot

This three wise men shot uses 3 different whiskeys and is packed with holiday fun! One word of advice – it’s pretty potent so be warned it can get you into the holiday spirit pretty fast. Cheers!

Are you into taking shots?

Don’t worry if you say no. I’m not going to hold it against you.

Personally, I like to slowly get into the holiday spirit but to each their own.

Especially when it comes to holiday drinking. I mean, it’s just about the only time of the year where you can drink for a week straight and no one thinks it weird.

A nip of aged eggnog at breakfast? Why not.

Maybe a cranberry mojito with lunch? Sure.

Feeling cold? Maybe a glass of slow cooker spiced mulled wine will warm you up.

Feel like making a homemade Christmas gift? Make them homemade candy cane vodka!

Need a shot with a little bit of sweetness? Pass them this gummy bear shot!

You get it. You can be lush, and no one cares.

What’s in a Three Wise Men Shot

For this shot, I combined 3 different types of whiskey to create the warmest quickest way to get holiday blitzed.

  • Jim Beam Bourbon Whiskey
  • Johnnie Walker Scotch Whisky
  • Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey

I should also note that I actually made this post back in 2010 but had to reshoot it because the old picture was awful. I’ve been doing that a lot lately – have you noticed?

I’m always worried that people will be all “Ugh, I saw this post 8 years ago. What gives?!”

Then I realize it’s doubtful any of you have been reading me for 8 years.

Or the whole (almost) 10 years that I have been blogging.

Seriously, cannot believe I’ve been doing this for almost 10 years. Crazy!

When I went to shoot this shot I realized I do not actually own any normal shot glasses. That’s why I went with these lovely little glasses I got a few years ago.

I saw them at Goodwill and could not pass them up. Sadly until today, they were unused.

And I’m pretty sure these glasses made for a more beautiful shot presentation than the only other shot glass I could find – my husband’s Kappa Xi Kappa shot glass from college.

Ways to enjoy this Three Wise Men Shot:

  • With family
  • With friends
  • With your pets
  • Not alone (too much alcohol = too many feelings)

Making this three wise men shot is pretty simple and just involves a few shakes and pours. If you want your shot at room temperature you can skip the ice-shaking step.

Personally, I like mine ice cold but to each their own.
