You’ll love these small batch chocolate chip cookies in the air fryer !
I love cookies, but I don’t always love the process of making them. You know, you have to turn on the oven, line a bunch of cookie sheets, pull out the big electric mixer, scoop them all, bake them in several batches, and so on.
You’re always rewarded with delicious cookies at the end, but you also end up exhausted.
Well, things are changing around here with this
If you’re feeling fancy, sprinkle the warm cookies with sea salt. You can also leave them plain and dip them in milk.
I’m not a milk dipper, but more power to those who live for it.

My Pro Tips
Recipe Tips
- This cookie recipe calls for salted butter; however, if you only have unsalted butter on hand, add 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt.
- The egg yolk brings moisture and structure to the cookie.
- This recipe uses chopped chocolate, but it works well with almost any chopped chocolate, chunks, or chips.
- If you sprinkle the top with salt, use a lovely fleur de sel.
- Line your
air fryer basket with parchment paper AFTER you preheat your oven. If it’s lined while preheating, it will get sucked up and burn in yourair fryer . - You can easily double this recipe (just hit the 2x in the recipe card), and it will make 12 regular-sized cookies or 6 oversized cookies.
- Line your
air fryer basket with foil instead of parchment paper. If you don’t line the basket, the dough will melt while baking.
Substitutions and Adaptations
- Swap out the all-purpose flour with white whole wheat flour for added whole grains.
- You can switch up the semi-sweet chocolate using any of your favorites—dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, or a mix of all three!
- Add in chopped toasted nuts like walnuts, pecans, or almonds.
- Chop up leftover Halloween candy and fold it in.
- Use granulated sugar instead of brown sugar however, the cookies may not be as soft.
