Now, these are perfect for Valentine’s Day but, truthfully, great for any day of the week you want a little splurge. They also make a fabulous dessert.

You don’t have to cover them with a whole chocolate covered strawberry, but it’s highly recommended!

I used melted chocolate, sliced berries, and powdered sugar as toppings, but honestly, you can use whatever you like the most.

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Waffles FAQ’s

For this dish, fresh strawberries will work best. Frozen strawberries are much more watery and may make the batter too wet and not hold together like fresh berries.

I like to keep it simple by serving this with sausage patties or bacon.

You can top these waffles with whatever you’re craving! Maple syrup is a classic and delicious choice. Other great options are chocolate, powdered sugar, and extra berries.

  1. This is what I want for breakfast on Valentines day. Like I’m literally going to send your recipe to my husband and demand that he makes it happen haha. I love waffles too! I just got a new waffle maker and I can’t wait to have these!

  2. I love waffles too, and chocolate, oh my! But I get your hubby, I cringe on Mother’s Day when I’ instructed to wait in the bed for breakfast. This past Mother’s Day they got me my favorite a Kiss The Pig sandwich. It’s a bacon, mayo and tomato sandwich on crusty Cuban bread. Crumbs were everywhere. It was chaos.

  3. What a romantic way to start the day. You took chocolate covered strawberries to another level 🙂

  4. I’ve never made waffles but I so wish I had a waffle iron right now. These look incredible! And I love that you used Truvia for a less sugary version. Oh and our kitchen table is always full of baking ingredients so we eat in bed quite often. Haha. My husband would hate me for admitting that but I don’t know why he cares. It’s all my mess. 😉

  5. Oh my goodness! I think that I need to break out my waffle iron this weekend. These look amazing! 🙂

  6. This is like breakfast heaven!!! I love everything about these and am going to talk my husband into making them this weekend!
