I will happily eat fruit-based desserts all year long. 

While nothing is more delicious than a fresh summer peach, I can’t go months without one of my favorite desserts – peach cobbler. 

This frozen peach cobbler recipe gives you all the flavor of summer but uses simple store-bought frozen sliced peaches. It’s the perfect compromise! 

You don’t even need to thaw the peaches! That’s how easy this recipe is to make! 

It’s sweet, perfectly spiced, and pairs perfectly with ice cream or whipped cream. 

What I love most about this recipe is that I can make it all year round!

What is a peach cobbler?

Peach cobbler is a dessert dish made with peaches (but can also be made with several other different fruits) and topped with a batter or biscuit-like dough before cooking. 

After it has cooked, the topping is soft like a cake or biscuit and pairs perfectly with the warm, soft fruit. 

In the south, fruit cobblers are very popular and often eaten warm or room temperature with ice cream or whipped cream.

This is what makes the recipe so easy to make. No need to defrost. 

Or if you’re like me, there’s no need to REMEMBER to defrost.

Can I substitute other frozen fruit?

Yes!

The recipe should remain pretty much the same. 

Anytime you’re changing a tested recipe, you’ll want to keep an eye on the cooking time to ensure your fruit won’t need extra time to cook. 

A great substitution would be blueberries, strawberries, mangoes, or even a fun tropical blend.

Can I use fresh peaches in this recipe?

If you’re using fresh peaches, no changes need to be made. 

Follow the directions, except you’ll be using your fresh sliced peaches. 

You can feel free to peel your peaches if desired, but I have made many cobblers and crisps by leaving the peach skin on. I like it a lot, and it cuts down on prep time.

How do I store fresh peach cobbler?

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and spray a 9×13 inch pan with nonstick spray.

For filling:

  • Add the peaches to a large mixing bowl.
  • In a small mixing bowl combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Pour the dry mixture over the peaches and toss.
  • Add peaches to the prepared pan. Sprinkle any dry mixture left in the bowl on top of the peaches in the pan.
  • Drizzle the top with melted butter.

For Topping:

  • Combine the flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt in a small mixing bowl.
  • Cut in the butter until the mixture looks like coarse cornmeal.
  • Add beaten eggs and mix.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the topping onto the peach mixture. The topping will be thick so it’s best to do it in little drops and try to spread out as best you can.
  • Bake uncovered for 50-60 minutes.

  1. I wanted to whip up a tasty treat for the Old Hippie (O.H.) and myself tonight. I thought this fit the bill because I had the ingredients and I could cut the recipe in half which was more than enough for us. I skimmed through the recipe and had it in the oven at 9:20 and prepared the topping. Thinking it will be snack time shortly. That’s when I read after topping put back in oven for 50 more min.! I will pay closer attention to the time in the future. I’m a night owl so that’s alright. But O.H. heads to bed at 10 but there ought to be some good smells coming from the kitchen about that time and I have a feeling I’ll have his company a little longer.

  2. I have to be honest and say this was not the best cobbler I’ve tried. I thought the flour in the filling was too much, I did cut the recipe in half, and I would prefer to use arrowroot or cornstarch as a thickener. I could have cut the sugar some, also. But the biscuit topping was both crispy on the outside and moist on the inside and that part of the recipe is definitely a keeper. I question the necessity of baking the peach mixture for 30 min. prior to adding the topping. I think it would of been quicker to cook the peaches on the stove for 5-10 min and then putting on the topping and bake for 50 min. Just my opinion.

  3. I forgot to add that O.H. (Old Hippie) stayed up til 11:30 and thoroughly enjoyed his very warm dish of cobbler topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

  5. This is a fantastic recipe. I was planning on making cobbler with fresh peaches but the ones I had gotten had gone bad. Was nervous about frozen peaches but this cobbler was delicious. This will be my go-to recipe from now on!

  6. I made this cobbler according to the directions except that I used a little less sugar as I freeze my peaches with some sugar. I made about a recipe and a half. My husband gets very sad if I bring a dish to potluck and he doesn’t get his own. They smelled incredible while they were baking. I just took the cobblers out of the oven and I took a quick taste test. The cobbler is yummy and I’m sure it will be the hit at the potluck.

  8. Thank you for the recipe. We tried it, but it wasn’t our favourite. Reduced the amount of sugar as our peaches were sweet. It was the perfect amount of sweetness. Was not our favourite because of the texture. I wanted a recipe that didn’t require thawing and draining peaches, but it has a different texture on the peach portion that is just not our favourite. Thanks though.

  9. Good recipe. I used frozen sweetest peaches from my back yard and came out amazing cobbler. This time I added some strawberries. Let see how it tests! Just to let you know since I started growing peaches in my backyard store brought peaches testes very plain.
