I’m always looking for new ways to make dinner time stress-free. Enter: the air fryer!

I love using my air fryer for helping me cook yummy meals throughout the week (hello, air fryer chicken parmesan).

These air fryer pork chops come out juicy every time. I’ve used some butter, savory garlic, and fresh herbaceous sage on these for extra added delicious flavors.

Trust me, you’ll never have a dry pork chop again after making these air fryer pork chops!

Raw ingredients to make pork chops in the air fryer.

Ingredients for air fryer pork chops

  • Center-cut pork chops – My favorite cut for this recipe is center-cut, but if you use bone-in, ensure the pork chop’s internal temperature is 145 degrees F when it’s done.
  • Butter – This will add fat and juiciness to our pork chops.
  • Fresh sage – Fresh is best! Sage is a classic herb that is often paired with pork.
  • Garlic – A classic ingredient that will add earthiness to the dish.
  • Salt and black pepper – These seasonings are important to ensure the pork is extra flavorful.

Using bone-in pork chops

I’ve used center-cut pork chops here, but if you prefer bone-in, remember that they will take a bit longer to cook.

And remember, pork is done when the internal temperature of the chop reaches 145 degrees F.

Air Fryer FAQ

An air fryer is a tabletop convection oven.
It mimics the outcome of a deep-fat fryer but without oil. Hot hair is moved around via a fan that quickly and crisply cooks the food. The two most common air fryers you’ll see are basket-style (that is what I have) or convection/toaster oven-style. There are pluses to both, but I prefer my basket style.

I prefer the basket-style air fryer as it’s smaller and takes up less room than the toaster oven-style air fryer. My biggest tip regarding air fryers is to pick a style that will work best for your family and how much food you cook. My large basket-style air fryer can cook up to 12 wings, 2-4 servings of french fries, etc., which works well for my household.

The answer to this will depend on your brand. It is ALWAYS best to double-check all brand recommendations by reading your user manual or visiting their website and seeing if they address this question on their site. My air fryer brand is basket style, and the outer and inner baskets are dishwasher safe.

Storage and leftovers

Any leftover pork chops can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

To reheat, place in a microwave-safe dish and, cover loosely with a damp paper towel, and heat for 3-4 minutes or until heated thoroughly.

Ingredients

  • 4 center-cut pork chops, about 1-inch thick
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage, minced

Instructions

  • Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel and season them lightly with salt and pepper.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the butter, garlic, and sage.
  • Divide the mixture between the pork chops and rub the butter mixture over both sides.
  • Place the pork chops in the air fryer, making sure not to overcrowd the basket.
  • Cook at 400 degrees F for 10-12 minutes, or until the internal temperature registers 140 degrees F on an instant-read thermometer.
  • Allow the pork chops to rest in the air fryer (with it turned off) for 5 minutes before serving. This will help keep the pork chops juicy. Don’t skip it!
  • Serve the pork chops with your favorite sides and store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
